Lynn, I'm considering removing some fish so that I can put other specimens in my tank!

Greg, I guess Gail has spoken, no new fish for you!

Re: Akwar'eum

Well fiddlesticks! I cleaned the tank monday fairly well, first Monday of the month and all that, I didn't think I messed up Peteys house but he hasn't been seen since and I can't find him anywhere in the tank. Gail and I both thought we heard him popping at different times so maybe he's in there somewhere and just moved where we can't see him. His house was in such a great place right at the front of the tank where I could watch him and feed him. I'm not giving up hope, Petey the Defender shall prevail!
One of the gonis is feeling poorly, I think he had too much light so I've moved him to the substrate in partial shade. The other one is looking better than ever, fully extended! They were three inches apart but the goodlooking one is more in the shade of the tank center support and underneath the seaswirl, which is why I thought of moving the other to a shaded area. Anyway, I'll keep ya posted on Petey and the Green goni.
It's time to trim the xenia again and the red kelp is starting to get huge so in go the scissors tomorrow night! P.S. Dentoid, I'm still working on the foxface, I'l probably drive Gail crazy til she caves... Do foxfaces eat red kelp? She mentioned somethng about wanting to pay off the bowflex, how can she think of paying bills when there are critters to be purchased?!

Re: Akwar'eum

My pistol moves around. He has a labyrinth of tunnels and my Yellow Watchman goby follows him around, so I always know where he is. Perhaps yours is laying low after a molt waiting for his shell to harden-up.

Not sure if Foxfaces eat Red Kelp, mine ate this huge piece of red macro algae that grew from my LR in about 3 days.

OK, for you equipment freaks out there, these are photgraphs of my fish room after it's overhaul and update. No actual harlequins were injured in the making of this funky floor. No one, under any circumstances may compare the neetness of this room to Frankies. Let the drooling or derision begin.

Looks great Greg! I love going backstage and when the back area is bigger than the display. I envy your fish room.

Re: Akwar'eum

Well, the Scribble face rabbitfish is in the MT but Tommy the tomini tang doesn't like him at all. I hope he lets up soon. I've rearranged stuff in the tank but it hasn't helped much yet. He's eating algae though and that's what I got him for.

Gail and I had to do surgery on shrek the pink spot goby last night. he had a growth in his mouth that was affecting his ability to eat. I held him in my gloved hands while gail use tweezers to remove the growth. I had the camera set up for photos, but Tonya, my daughter couldn't figure out how to make it work and the surgery was over quickly so no photos. sorry. Then to make matters worse, he jumped out of my hands as I was putting him back in the tank, I picked him up off the floor and he jumped again but Gail caught him before he hit the floor a second time. Finally we got him in the tank and he seems OK today.

I lost my skunk cleaner shrimp a couple of days ago, no idea what that's about. I need to get the other serpent star out of the tank so I'll quit blaming every loss on him although I know he's responsible to the orange spot goby and the cardinals tail. I've got three cleaners ordered plus 50 more nassirius' and a handful of cheatomorpha that should be here Thursday.

My order from Marine depot came today. I got an inline TDS meter for my RO/DI. Two new PC bulbs (actinic/Blue compbo), a SCWD to provide more alternating current, and a Pocket Expert guide to Marine Invertebrates book by Ronald Shimek. So far the book has been very enlightening. I like inverts better that fish I think, but visitors want to see the fish, soooo..

Anyway, that's what's going on. See ya soon

Re: Akwar'eum

Well crud. I turn off my return pump for feeding time. Last night I got distracted and forgot to turn on the pump for several hours. When I realized it, I had already lost two shrimp and Tommy the Tomini . I guess the rabbitfish will be happier.
