Not yet, I still have to figure how many gallons is in it, then use the reef calculator.

Re: Akwar'eum

More life cronicle stuff. The phone woke us up early this morning and something was wrong with Gails dad. They live next door so she goes over and it seems like he's had a stroke so the ambulance comes to get him. On the way to the local hospitol they have him hooked to an EKG monitor. The ambulance is going around 60ish, and we're following. Suddenly they turn around and start blistering down the road. We're following and Gails mother who is in the ambulance calls on the cell phone to say the hospitol here saw something on the EKG and to send him to the heart hospitol in the neighboring county. I've never had my Ford Ranger up to 90 before but at 90MPH it starts sputtering, it has a governor on it and it can't go faster than that. The ambulance is going 100. Oddly no lights or sirens though. We get to the ER and it is determined he has had a mild stroke, pneumonia and sometime recently had a mild heart attack. He was extremely dehydrated. Once they got an IV hooked up and antibiotics pumping he seemed to recover quickly. In four hours time they had all testing done including a CAT scan and had him in a private room. He kept saying there was nothing wrong with him and he wanted to go home. He's 77 and has never been in the hospitol and in 30 years of knowing him he's been to the doctor twice. He hates them. He smokes a pack a day and the doc said the mild stroke was sort of a wake up call for him and he should listen. He and Gails mother stopped smoking today! They assured us he's going to be fine but they are keeping him for a couple of days to run tests because of the heart stuff and blood in the urine. What a scare, I really thought we were going to lose him by the way he was acting this morning. Completely incoherant and couldn't stand or really move at all.

My brother is the GM at the local giant Ford dealer and he is going to hear about the governor and fix it or get me another truck! If I need to go fast then by golly I want to be able to!!

Re: Akwar'eum

Wow... very scary stuff. You are totally right. If it came down to life and death and you needed your car to do 120mph. then ya know what it better be able to do 120mph. dont give me a gauge that goes that high and expect me not to be able to one day use it. Thats false advertising. Hope all works out for you all.

Re: Akwar'eum

Wow Greg! Thank God he is ok! And I'm not sure you really want to be going that fast in a ranger. They really aren't built for that kind of speed. That governor may have saved your life!

Heck with the truck, just remember what's really important... Your Father in Law is OK! And you and Gail are still here to talk about the truck.

Re: Akwar'eum

Thank you Dennis. Gails dad is a stubborn old codger and I love him absolutely. He's been more like a father to me than my real one. It's been tough to watch him go from a 185# extremely muscular, very manly man's man to the 137# frail man he is now. He fought for our country in Korea and was the head of setting up military governments in captured towns (also the youngest man ever given the rank Master Seargent at the time) and I've always been fascinated with his stories. He is a wonderful friend, father, grandfather, and mentor but he's getting tired I think. When his Father finally calls him home I'm going to miss him dearly.

I figured the governor was there for a reason but it didn't make me like it any better. I may be upgrading my truck as well!!

Ditto, and I'll pray for your father in law to stop smoking for the love of his family. Glad things worked out.

Re: Akwar'eum

Thanks guys! My father-in-law is a strange man in the fact that he can lay the cigarettes down and walk away from them, he's won lots of money doing that. He'll put them down for a year and be fine, it's Grandma that's the problem. When she tries to stop she gets so mean he will usually go buy some and make her smoke just to live with her. It's Grandma we need to pray for, and she is the one that said they both quit smoking yesterday so that's step one...

Re: Akwar'eum

When we came home today the aquarium looked particularly good. All of the corals were extended like crazy! Yesterday we had another calcium event caused by the float sticking again on the top off system. It dumped all 6 gallons and lots of calcium into the sump which caused the PH to go to 8.45 and a white coating on everything. I ordered a new float immediately from autotopoff.com because this is the third time it's happened. At least now I have it set so if it happens no real damage is done. Here is a photo of everybody enjoying the extra calcium. The Xenia to the left looks funny because it is being drawn towards the Koralia pump over on that side.

Re: Akwar'eum

Everything does look good Greg. Maybe they needed a little extra calcium, eh?

Thanks Scott! It's just left of the clam behind the Fiji Leather. It's a little overexposed there.
