Re: HMA’s 115 gal. Reef Tank

Hello together,

No good news today unfortunately. The message concerns not my reef but my FO. My Pinktail triggers will probably soon die. For two days it does not eat. It does not have any outside signs of illness, is only somewhat pale in the colour and swims any longer. am very sad, he is one of my favoured fish for now 6 years.

I feed him shrimps with vitamin and garlic at its sleep place. I cannot do more unfortunately for him. Now I can only be waiting and hope.

Now also still one of my cleaner wrasse jumped against the Aquarium Lighting and probably hurt themselves. Today is one of my black days ….. sh…...

Heinz, I can't imagine how you much feel. I've had a fish three days and was up until 3:30 am reading, trying to find ways to save him. 6 years is an incredible length of time to have this fish, I hope he pulls through for you.

Sorry to hear that Heinz. Such a beautiful fish. You've had him so long it's like loosing a best friend. Do you know how long triggers usually live in captivity?

Re: HMA’s 115 gal. Reef Tank

Hello Doc,

My beloved trigger died.

A friend of me works as a biologist for the ZOO-Frankfurt. He said to me I could not help the animal, in the sea it would become never so old as in my reef. I have many beautiful memories, pictures and videos of him.

A good friend is gone….

I'm sorry Heinz. At least you were able to give him a long and happy life. That means a lot. He was a beautiful fish.

I'm sorry for your loss. The longer you have a pet the longer you have to love him and the tougher it is to see him go.

Sorry you lost your trigger HMA. I understand how you feel. I felt terrible when i lost my buddy two years ago. He was a jewel tang that ate out of my hand from day one. I was very attached to that fish. Here's a picture of him:
