| Excellent Guesser :D | Re: HMA’s 115 gal. Reef Tank Heinz you have a wonderful collection of centropyges in your tank. Do you have any problems with any of them nipping coral polyps? If not, what do you think is your secret to your success? Most are listed as questionable for reef safety. Do you have a list of all the dwarf angels in your tank? I am curious as to space requirements for housing multiple dwarf angels. Your tank is about the size I would like to move to in the future. Just planning ahead. ![]()

| Golden Moray | Re: HMA’s 115 gal. Reef Tank Fish wisperer Lynn? mhhhh .... definitely not ! Hello Buddys, one of my friends is like me a great Centropyge „fan", he has infected me with the Centropyge virus. He keeps 8 different kinds, every Kind in pairs or groups and now already some years without slightest problems. He keeps even Centropyge argi and acantherops, both kinds are described everywhere as rowdies. Neither with me nor my friend corals are damaged from the Dwarf Angels. Yes, they nip now and then on it, but they damage no coral polype. I have observed this nipping very carefully, but even with a magnifying glass ascertain no damage of a Polype. It may be that preinjured corals are nibbled; up to now in healthy corals I could ascertain no damage. I know that in a lot of descriptions is written the Dwarf Angels nip at corals. Is this always properly what is written? I doubt this already since longer time. Dwarf Angels live to more than 70% on algae, the rest are mysis, krill, sponges etc.! If a Dwarf Angels damages corals, he gets in my eyes clearly not enough feed offered because too carefully Reefers have fear around theirs water parametres. I feed twice per day, are my water parametres bad therefore? No, definitely not. As long as the Dwarf Angels find sufficient algae and are well fed, nothing is to be feared for the corals. At the moment I have 6 Centropyge, 2 pairs and two singles - for me this is the uppermost border, any more should not be (in my 115gal. tank). There was fights only quite short time after every single new fish. If every fish had found his sleeping place and this place was not already taken by another fish, there was also no more quarrel

| Excellent Guesser :D | Re: HMA’s 115 gal. Reef Tank Thank Heinz as always for your information and insight. It reinforces what I was thinking already. Do you have a reliable resource for sexing male and female angels to get a pair or are you buying them in established pairs from fish stores?

| Golden Moray | Re: HMA’s 115 gal. Reef Tank Hello Robert and thanks for stopping by ….. I have another opinion on this subject Robert. Certainly, I also know the reports in those of fights to death are reported, but I could never see this during all the years up to now. Fights for the sleeping place, yes! One to two days sometimes here and there aggressive behaviour, Yes .of cours, but fight to the death? Luckily not up to now, neither with Centropyge nor with Doc's to them one also reports this behaviour. The only fish I have one day removed because of too aggressive behaviour from one of my tanks was A. Sohal. He was in such a way aggresiv that he attacked even my full-grown trigger-fish. Today he swims in a 60.000 litres reef tank of the Frankfurt zoo. He has totally discarded the aggresive behaviour and seems to be contented. Up to now maybe I have simply had always luck, quite honestly said I think this not really. Here is another Video of the 115gal reef tank from today!

This of course can be avoided with a large setup with plenty of rockwork and if the Angels are added simultaneously. Another option would be to have tank-bred Centropyge which are much less aggressive and of course much hardier.

| Excellent Guesser :D | Re: HMA’s 115 gal. Reef Tank Would the fact that Heinz has pairs of a couple species? If they were mated pairs that would reduce the amount of aggressiveness compared to having 2 males of the same species. Lovely video Heinz. Any chance of getting a webcam setup for 24 hours video streaming and live music? Five star reef watching all the time? Thanks again.
