Re: HMA’s 115 gal. Reef Tank

Do you mean this Jeff ?

This are Clathrina clathrus, a sponge from the Mediterranean Sea. They grow in all my aquariums very well, my Dwarf angels eat this sponge with predear ones.

btw ... thank you very much for stopping by Vicki, I would be glad about news of you and your beautiful tank. Have you already changed on Zeovit?

HI Heinz,, Yes I am at the 2 1/2 months mark with the zeovit... So far so good, No problems, all corals are doing great. With a tank my size and all the live rock and live sand it may take up to 6 months or more to get all the nasties out. All is well.. I havent had any more out break of bad algaes of any form .. All is good. Thanks for asking.

Great macro of that sponge. It's almost like looking at it through a magnifying glass.

Re: HMA’s 115 gal. Reef Tank

Thank you Vicki, Craig, Lynn, Robert and Adam ....

Here my late update, unfortunately, I had some hours no access to RS.

The current values of the 115gal tank:

Ammonia : 0
Nitrites : 0
Nitrates : < 2
Phosphates : < 0,03
Salinity : 1.02334
Alk : 9dkH
Cal : 416 ppm
Mag : 1320 ppm
Water : RO/DI
Ph – 8.0 to 8.3
Supplements: Balling Complete +Plus ( Ca, Mg, Na, Trace Elements and Amino Acids)

No news at the moment, so far everything is OK.

Great pic! Look at those little teeth....

I'm curious, what are you using to measure the salinity down to that level of accuracy? I don't think that even my pinpoint salinity monitor goes that granular.

And I've often wondered about your phosphate reading. You have 0,03. What does that mean?

I'm used to keeping my phosphates at zero and at the absolute very worst, below .03

And as far as your access to RS, I think Doni (woodstock) was in a bad mood today and was banning people randomly.

(seriously kidding )

The precise salinity value is fast explained Terry. I measure with a Refraktometer and a digital thermometer. I give the results in a conversion program and this spends the precise values.

I use very expensive, but also very precise measuring of Merck. With this you can prove very small quantity PO4 precisely. A value PO4 <0.01- <0,03 is perfect in order. Absolutely 0 PO4 I believe NOBODY. There is this neither in the sea nor in the aquarium and because there is no value 0 in my eyes, I always write <0.01 = smaller o.01

@aqtcjak

Haha what an awesome picture of your clown fish. I would be dead scared to see that coming if I was a little copepod!
