Re: HMA’s 115 gal. Reef Tank

Wow, Heinz! That is very much the kind of look I want to shoot for in my new aquarium at our new house. It looks a lot like a photo of a rubble zone outcropping biotope I saw in the book called Reef Secrets and I wanted to try it as soon as I saw it. I'm sure lots of research will have to go into making sure the corals touching each other are compatible. Beautiful, ..simply beautiful.

Re: HMA’s 115 gal. Reef Tank

Thanks all for the nice comments.

@framerguy
Thanks Greg .... as you wrote, it is a lot of resarch necessary but also a lot of try and error. With a dive in the Red Sea I discovered many years ago this offshore \\\ "Miniriff \\\", thus my aquarium should look once.

I think it is in the meantime not very far of it. I am very contented, in any case, with the present result.

The shot in #814 is a 2001 ocean shot and inspiration, correct? That is exactly what I want to try and reproduce. You have done a stunning job of it Heinz, congratulations!

Correct Greg, I saw this little outside reef and thought immediately of copying it also in one of my aquariums. In the meantime I tried my very best.

To copy the nature, however, is only very hardly possible but one should try it. Sometimes it also succeeds.

Looking forward to the Friday update tomorrow. It is always a highlight of my Fridays. I think I look forward to that more than having the weekend off of work.
Beautiful Simply beautiful. You have managed to capture the look of a reef in nature. I think that is why I love your tank so much.

Hello Lorraine, thanks for stopping by. Yepp it's cool .... the sea urchin as moon. Some months ago we spoke about the small Asterina stars, do you still know? At that time I had only a few, in the meantime, they have increased very strongly and I am glad about that, they eat the back wall nicely clean.

BTW ... the purple coral on the right below is a Lobophytum compactum, on the top right is an Acropora millepora (red).

Thank you very much Lynn, I am glad if you like my Aquarium, my small piece of nature. Now, I do not have to report every Friday about something new, but at least new pictures I always have. Maybe a small view of my tomorrow's update, there is new to report from my Clarkiis ...... till tomorrow Lynn.
