Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Make sure you guys use REAL butter on that popcorn - none of the movie theater oil! A little fresh parmesan cheese grated on top is really good too.

I sent Richard from TBS an email last night letting him know I am ready for Part 2 of my LR. I believe he is getting back from a trip on Sunday so hopefully on Monday I will have to go out to Midway Airport to pick up another shipment. I am getting all excited thinking about what goodies Richard will send me.
I need to do a water change this weekend and then make some more RO?DI water

Right now Mantis #2 is smahing away on his rock. Click........Pop...........POP.
When I go into the room to see what he is up to he darts back into his burrow.

The little red leg hermits have discovered the hair algae that was starting to go in the sand. There are 5 of them grazing away and the algae is almost all gone. I love hermits!!! POP!

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Part 2 will Have more LR, sand stirrers (tiger tail cucumber and serpant star),
45 hermit crabs, 23 snails, and 1 peppermint shrimp. The LR in part 2 will be more decorative and will have different species of corals on it. Maybee even a small fish or two like a tiger goby. I wont know exactly what I get until I open the boxes.
TBS will box them up in the morning, take them to the airport. and if like Part 1 I will be able to pick the boxes up at the airport here early afternoon!

Not yet!
In the Morning I will get an email from TBS giving me flight info.
Then I will run to the airport after my shipment lands.
Should be home with the new critters and LR mid afternoon, hopefully.
I'll take pics right away.

I have a question.
My sandbed is 2 - 2 1/2 inches deep. When the rest of the LR arrives and I aquascape should I plant the LR deep into the substrate all the way to the bottom of the tank? Or is it better to just place the LR on top of the sand?

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Sounds like a fun day!

A couple of suggestions for you to consider....

You didn't list gorilla crabs and other icky HH on your list of what you will get. Do you have a holding tank for this package so you can get all the bad stuff out of it easier?

As for the rock in the sand bed. I would place it deeper in the sand bed so that the mantis or other sand diggers don't topple it over. You could also place some small rocks in the sandbed for the larger rocks to sit on. I use the smaller rocks for most of mine so I keep all the arches and stuff on the bigger rocks exposed.

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Yipee! I remember when Richard called me for the 2nd shipment. He said that he had just gotten back from a dive and had some nice rock. I had to do some rearranging of my schedule, but it was worth it. He often puts other critters in there that are not a part of the "Package".

Can't wait to see your goodies!
