Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Midas are one of my favorites. I have 2 in my reef and they are great fish. They do like their "safe" place. Mine have chosen holes on different sides of the same rock. It is so sweet to watch them back in and leave their faces poking out to watch.

I do not have any fish in this tank yet.
The Midas Blenny is in QT. He has just overcome an illness where I had to treat him with deworming meds and an antibiotics. He has made a great recovery and is eating big time now.
Beside the Midas I an planning on adding a Long Nose Hawk Fish and a pair of Woodstock's Picasso clowns when they get old enough to ship. (A couple of months yet).

Recently one of my moonlights went out. A recent photo of the Month prize was the R2 extreme dual LED moon lights and since I did not win them I had to buy them. They really make the tank glimmer!

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

A couple weeks ago the 55g celebrated its first Birthday.
If you would like to see a month by month progression of this tank you can check out this thread. 55g-link-golden-chain-celebrates-1-year

The Big news is that the tank had the first fish move into it late last night.
Let me introduce Aurum, the Midas Blenney who has spent the last 6 weeks right next door in the Quarantine Tank.
Here he is checking out his the reef at his first dawn in his new home.

My plan was to add the first fish to this tank at around the 8 month mark.
I lost two different fish in QT so that plan got pushed back. I think a fish make a great belated 1st birthday present.

A black sun coral (Tubastraea micrantha) My LFS had them on sale for $17.00.
At that price I had to try.
