Wow Jeff, you really have some beautiful corals! I really like the Ric Rock. I'm putting together something like that too.

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Wow Thanks everybody for stopping by.

Vicki, Sarah, and Terry the Ric Rock always gets a lot of comments. It is actually two seperate branch rocks scaped together to look like one. Sharkeys Reef made one for me and then I mounted the other. IC -Gel is what I used to mount them. Its much better than super glue gel.

Scott The crab is what motivated me to buy that Acro piece. I saw him at the LFS. I had heard that the crab would not survive if its Acro died. Its good to know that that does not have to be true. I saw the pic of you new Pocillopora but now I want a pic f it with its crab.

Plecosword when I looked at the first pic of the Acro and crab I was wondering how visible the crab was if you didnt know where it was.
So I thought the close up shot would help. Kind of like playing "Wheres Waldo?"

Lynn I am glad you like a few crabs.

Lynn, I am glad you dont find ALL crabs Evil. I think so many crabs get the bad rap of a few species. Also I am amazed at how this tank has turned out in less than a year. Using TBS was the best choice I could have made.
My pics dont really do the tank Justice. It looks so much better in person doesn't it Fishnu? John has seen it in person.

Last but not least Craig - you are the best cheerleader a Reef can have!! I picked that Monti out at Sharkeys Reef and it has done well.
It really is a fierce piece and it only gets better as it grows. When I mounted it I was clumsy and broke some several pieces off. I mounted them on another rock and they have grown into one colony and is really starting to look great.

My new Corals from Mr. Coral are not going to arrive until next Tuesday due to the long holiday weekend and some scheduling problems. Im a bit disappointed that I have to wait (I was hoping to get them today) but what ya gonna do.

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

No Craig I have to wait until next Tuesday.

Alonzo works from home but he has a meeting on Thursday Afternoon and that was the only day Mr. Coral could schedule a delivery. (they use UPS and not fed ex so a morning delivery could not be worked out)

Its not worth crying about Scott! The corals are still health they are just at Mr. Corals and not in my tank. I just have to remain patient. Ohhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm.

Thanks Jack!

On another note - I have had the QT set up again for about 4 weeks now. Sponge was being seeded in my sump for about 3 weeks prior.
I have added 3ml of household ammonia twice to jump start the cycle and kept some fresh squid in the tank to feed the other denitrifing bacteria.
I have been very lazy about it and I have not done any testing for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, nor have I done a Water change. I am not going to Rush this QT's cycle at all. I am going out of town for a 4 day weekend in Mid June so before that I will do a big WC, add ammonia again, and start testing away.
Then when i get back from my little trip the QT should be all ready for a fish. I may just get a fish in the 55 before it turns 1 year old in August.

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Hey Scott, how about we go and pick up Jeffs corals and we drive out there to deliver them. If I drive, we can probably be there in about 12 hours. If YOU drive, we can probably be there in 3...

Chances are maybe! I always drive fast, always! I got caught the other day because my concentration was foiled by the saltwater on the floor board of my Porsche!

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

I get home from work Today and I have an email from Mr. Coral with a UPS tracking number for tomorrow - not next week as discussed. I call the store and UPS had just picked up the package and MR. Coral called UPS to see about them picking the box up at the UPS facility. I spoke with Brian at Mr. Coral again and he told me they do not require a signature so UPS will leave the box on the porch and with the temps in the 60s Brain said they will have used a heat pack. It is even possible that Alonzo will be back from his meeting before UPS arrives. However I am not thrilled about this change in plans. I do not like having to worry about the corals and then if the driver does not leave the package if there is no one home. Errrrrrrrrrr.
I'd rather have waited til next week for the peace of mind!.
Dont et me wrong - Brian @ Mr. Coral was very helpful this evening.

Now after the coral are in my tank safe and sound tomorrow I will be happy.
