Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Thanks for the info Heinz. I started an Id thread for this coral.
sps-id-help-please There are some much better pics there. Luckily I dont think it is the aggressive Hydnopora. It has been suggested as Pavona Decussata. After doing some more research on line on both Hydnopora and Pavona it really appears to be Pavona

I am really digging the clams!

I'm really bad at identifying corals so I call them all:

Ahhhhh, pretty!

Well it took over a hundred shots but I finally got some decent pics of the Acro Crab. He is so cute with his blue eyes.

Adorable. I too usually avoid crabs but that guy looks really fun.

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Many of you know that I lost the Long nose hawk fish in the QT to a bacterial infection this week. If you are interested you can read about it in My First Quarantine Tank Thread. Tomorrow I am going to tear down the QT. Clean it thoroughly then next week set it back up. I already have new sponge filter material in my sump getting seeded with bacteria. When the QT is set back up you can follow it in My 2ND QT thread.

I walked by the 55g today and thought I saw a ton of micro bubbles but when I looked closer it was a sand storm. Mantis #2 was doing some major excavation work today. He was cleaning deep areas under his rock. He would come out with arms full of sand and push it into a pile. After several trips he would turn around and with all his rear legs he would kick up a sand cloud. I took a bunch of pics but I didnt get any that were really very good so I am not going to post them.

Mantis #2 did get me in a photo taking mood and about 150 shots later I downloaded them. I will share some of them of course!
First some of the new sps - the Acropora and the Pavona

WHOA! Look at that ric leaning up against the brain. The brain won't hurt it or eat it?

Everything looks wonderful!
