Oh no!! He was a cool fish. It drives me nuts when I can't identify what happened.

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Thanks Kathy.
It is tuff not knowing what caused Opus' death.
If it was a water quality issue. . .say like . . . like CO2 toxicity due too low Alkalinity I could learn from that and make sure it didnt happen again.

Actually I did learn that lesson even if it was not the cause of death.
I will be sure to test ph and dhk in the QT in the future.

I caught another gorilla crab in the chaeto filled soap dish.
I never imagined that would be such an effective crab trap.
I crushed the crab and fed him to the tank. soft shell crab . yum

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

My rock flower anemone came with my LR from TBS. He has always moved around among the rocks and back of the tank. One day her was on my magnetic cleaner (which was near a PH) so I took him for a ride to clean the sides of the tank and returned the magnet to a low corner. He found a nice place and stayed there for about three weeks. I thought he was done movin around but not so. No he is on front panel. You can see his foot below the substrate.

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Yep! That's the one. Beautiful colors on it! That's what I really like about rics, the amazing amount of colors that they have.

ReefGoddess has a bunch of spectacular ones for sale too.

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Thanks Adam!
The Ric Rock is one of my favorites too!

Terry I got that ric from Sharkey'sReef.com - who also got me started on the Ric Roc. I also got some of my rics from flricordia here on RS!
I've seen some of Reef Goddess' rics. I would love one of her colony rocks.

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Hi Drew!
Thanks.
I didn't realize you had the same macro lens. Very cool.

I stopped by my new LFS that is just around the corner.
He remembered that I had said that a Long Nose Hawk Fish was on my fish wish list and he had one in stock. He is going to hold the Long nose for me until this weekend. I wanted to be sure that my QT is ready to go.
So I will be getting my next fish Saturday after work.

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Scott what is your Long Nose's favorite food???

The one I am getting is still a little guy.
Id guess about 1 1/2 inches long maybe two inches tops

They also had some of the tiniest yellow clown gobys.
They were sooooo cute!

Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain

Mine eats any meaty food. I have always fed him mysis and plankton or small krill. Never flake or pellets.

Here he is now.

January 2007. First fish in my tank!
