Ok, I don't know what I was doing when I typed that. Was I drunk or something? The tentacles are not too long. Less than an inch usually. Only saw them about 2" once and it was surprising. They don't bother anything else around them so far. | |

| Beautiful Katamari | Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain I did my usual weekend tank maintance including a 20g Water change. I noticed another mouth on the Chalice that was totally disintegrating. The 3 mouths that were showing signs of Plumpness last week were no longer looking full. It was so beautiful. I think I was so mesmorized by the red and blue colors that I did not pay close attention to the edges of the coral and notice it was receding. Lesson learned the hard way. I removed the chalice from the tank. I notied that my Siderastrea polyps were not completely opening. I have learned that the large siderastrea is a good water quality monitor from going through the cycle of Part 2 of the TBS Package. Since the chalice has lost the small signs of hope from last week I decided it was best to remove him from the tank. I am going to keep the skelton as it will make a nice platform for zoantids, rics, or shrooms. I have it in a bucket of water with a powerhead and will let it cure. I also have a rock that some GSP were on in the nano that i had removed. That rock spent the summer outside on my deck. I will let those two cure and put back into the tank.

and several more within an hours drive. I used to live a block away from a great place (CHICAGO AQUARIUM AND POND) then they closed right after I got my first tank. Now a year and a half later they are getting ready to reopen(just CHICAGO AQUARIUM) in another store front just a few doors away from their original location. I am hoping they will have a great coral selection.

| Beautiful Katamari | Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain I've had the closed brain for nearly a week and I had not seen any tentacles yet after dark. I had tempted the favites with cyclopeeze/oyster eggs but nothing. So last night i thawed a cube of my fresh shrimp-squid slurry to feed the tanks. The fungia in the nano gobbles this stuff up. Well the favites got excited too and of course I snaped a couple of pics. I have noticed that the parts of the walls of the individual favites that are a little bleached are starting to darken back up. I had been a little concerned about that. I also fed all 3 of my mantis shrimps. #2 had gone into hidding again recently and he is now very active around his side of the tank and Big. He has become a fast growing shrimpy.

| Beautiful Katamari | Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain MISSING ![]() Cute Flower anemone went missing. Last seen on his rock facing the back of the tank. Cant find him anywhere even though I can see almost all areas behind rock. Actually as I was leaving for work this morning I walked out my door and found a cute little friend lost dog. I took him in and plastered the hood with FOUND fliers. He gets along great with my dog and cats. I really hope his owner calls. I do not need another dog. Already have one dog and 3 cats and 2 reef tanks.

| Majano Slayer | Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain We've got 2 pound puppies, we're suckers for those sad eyes on dog adoption day... My flower anem doesn't seem to be a big fan of the bright light and he can shrink up really small, maybe yours is just checking out some darker real estate.

| Golden Moray | Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain Uh oh, hope you find your flower anemone. It's like the bermuda triangle in reef tanks. I'm missing a piece of my hydor koralia. I only have a 72 gal. How does a big black ring just disappear? |

| Beautiful Katamari | Re: A 55G link in the Golden Chain After being missing for 2 days the flower anenome has shown back up. He is back in a cave and he is closed up when I took the pic. 15 minutes later and he was opening back up. He was not here last night but he must have been back amongst those rocks where I could not see. I know they dont alway like the bright lights as he was often under his rock hanging upside down. I still have the little Lost doggie. Tomorrow we are going to go see if he has a micro chip implant. He has been fixed so maybe.
