| Golden Moray | Re: Yes! Everybody who likes new pics of a new tank Sorry about your Gramma, I was hoping you would find it safe and sound. Now you only have the 2 clowns, correct? The Damsels are gone, right? Your clowns are probably just acclimating themselves to their new surroundings and will soon be swimming all about. I think you also said you had no top on the tank, if that is so, try to get some egg crate and cover it for the safety of your fish as well as those 4 legged critters.....waiting to see your clown pics

| Tridacna maxima | Re: Yes! Everybody who likes new pics of a new tank thats cool. i would hold off on any new additions. after adding the LR its a good idea to test and do daily checks on water parameters till things are stable day to day. i usually wait a month after the rock is in before adding anything. the clowns are pretty hardy and can handle some cycling, keep on eye on your water parameters. what, when and how often do you test? what and when was the last set of tests you did? and what kits are you using now?

| See Golden Compass | Re: Yes! Everybody who likes new pics of a new tank What the heck? One of my clownfish died today. It just was found dead in the back of the tank; it looked perfectly healthy last time I saw it. It didn't eat though, and neither will the living one! That is the third fish death! I reed them frozen cubes... I just don't know! |

| Achilles Tang | Re: Yes! Everybody who likes new pics of a new tank When you add new fish are you acclimating them at all? Your salinity is a bit low. You should try raising it very slowly to about 1.026. Just top your tank off with salt water instead of fresh water for a couple of days. The Nitrates aren't too bad, fish can usually handle nitrates pretty well, so that's deffinitely not it. You temp seems a bit low, but not too bad. You should try setting your heater to about 78 degrees. I wonder if adding the fish to your tank without acclimation could be putting them into shock. I know that mose LFS probably keep their temps around 80 and their Salinity around 1.026, so plopping them right into 76 degree water with an SG of 1.026 may shock them a bit. I don't know, everything else looks fine. Sorry I couldn't help more.

| Achilles Tang | Re: Yes! Everybody who likes new pics of a new tank Yup, that's what it means to acclimate. I really don't know what to say unless your test results are wrong, or the fish are sick when you get them. Have they all come from the same LFS? Make sure you ask the LFS employee who helps you to feed the fish before you purchase them. Maybe you should take a water sample to the LFS and have them test it. I hope your luck gets better soon!! I almost forgot to ask, are the fish breathing heavy on their way out? Is there pleanty of surface movement in the tank? You should have a power head pointed towards the top of the tank to make sure the water is moving, this ensures good gas exchange. If you don't have any movement at the top your fish could be suffocating to death...
