No, they don't even realize there are fish at all... But, the possibility that it is just hiding is still there. My LFS says it is probably still hiding... I dunno; I am so anxious. Thanks though.

He just has a filter on that tank from the picture Doc. No sump. It sounds like he's just hiding in the rock to me. Or jumped and got eaten by one of the cats. Don't sweat it to much dude. Your going to have losses in this hobby and it's best to just get use to that right now. Don't get all emotional over a fish. Trust me. It stinks to loose something and really stinks when it just up and vanishes. I have had that happen also. I just chalk it up to the saying "it is what it is" and move on.

I think it is too, somewhere..probably looking at you snickering too...so you get your new things tomorrow, right? You are going to like that cleaner shrimp. I love mine, think they are so neat to watch. He may hide a little also at first and then he will find a place for his cleaning station. The fish will go to him to be cleaned, sorta like a drive thru car wash! Mine has his cleaning station right out in the front where he entertains me on a daily basis.

Re: Yes! Everybody who likes new pics of a new tank

Okay!!! I found the royal gramma! He was under a rock sadly passed away... It looks like he died because he got suck or wouldn't come out to eat flake food... It was really sad seeing him... I did however get two (false percs pair) clownfish as promised, but the cleaner will have to wait because the LFS's shipment came later tonight... Pictures will have to wait until tomorrow!

I know it is a coral life setup (in terms of the lights), and it has lunar lights and blue actinics, and yes corals and eventually an anemone is the plan!

Sorry to hear about your Gramma. Like Frankie said, losses are a reality in this hobby. You got back on the horse with your clowns though. Great additions! Looking forward to the pictures.

Re: Yes! Everybody who likes new pics of a new tank

Is it normal if they are swimming in the bottom corner together, and kinda hovering by the substrate??

Re: Yes! Everybody who likes new pics of a new tank

Sorry to hear about the Gramma, I was hoping he'd be alive and well. Congrats on the clowns though!! They are so fun!! Don't worry about them hovering in the corner, they are probably just scared. I was reading a thread just the other day where someone's clowns were doing the same thing right after introduction to the tank. Good luck with your new little guys!!

Re: Yes! Everybody who likes new pics of a new tank

When I first got mine they would hover at the top corner when the lights would go off. They would snuggle up against each other. Many times I thought one of them was dead because it would be laying on its side at the top and the other one would be nudging it from beneath, then when the lights came on they both would spring into animation, shaking their groove thang! This is perfectly normal behavior, they'll come around.

IMO, SLOW DOWN!!!! your not giving your bacteria population a chance to adapt to increased bio loads.

4-damsels
1-gramma
2-clowns

all these added in less than a month on a 30gal from startup date is way too much. not to mention the addition of most of your LR about a week ago. try not add more than one fish a month, even longer till your tank starts to mature. once its mature it can handle increased loads without any noticable changes, but now it can not. patients patients patients.

Dito! Good call prow. I would stop right where you are with what you have and listen to prow. I neglected to notice how young this set up is.
My male clown still sleeps at the top of the tank right at the teeth to the overflow. I have had to net him out of the overflow a few times now. Yours will get use to the tank in time.

I believe the damsels were removed and now the gramma is gone. IME there are only 2 clowns. With that being said, going slow is the keystone to a healthy reef.
