Re: Chronicle to Christopher's 1st Reef Adventure!

Oh no! Hope the ick does not come back. Ick lifecycle goes from rocks to fish... if there are no fish in the tank, there's no host so the ick dies. Any chance you have a spare 10g floating around, you could QT them (4 to 6 weeks I think?)... IF you catch them. Or use selcon, garlic, zoe to help booster the fishies.

Re: Chronicle to Christopher's 1st Reef Adventure!

Sorry, but no QTs around... I would have to cycle and everything anyways, and I just don't have the resources... But I think he will get better on his own like Michael's did... I hope!

Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Re: Chronicle to Christopher's 1st Reef Adventure!

Royal Grammas are tough little fish. Mine has had ick, jumped out of his tank, flopped around on the dusty floor beind a cabinet, lived in the back chamber of a 12 gallon aquapod for 2 weeks. I thought he had died, when I went to chane my carbon, I saw two little eyes lookin at me like"dad, get me outta here. And he survived being in a cup of water while I was moving him to another tank. They are little troopers.
As BigAl said We are all very proud of you. Many people just give up.~Michael

Wow Michael! Your gramma is an inspiration to fish everywhere! All those hardships are probably worth the 240 gallon, though! LOL!

Re: Chronicle to Christopher's 1st Reef Adventure!

I got a Royal Gramma today! He's a pretty, healthy little guy. I carefully acclimated him and when I was putting him in the tank I turned over the net and it flopped to one side and he fell on the floor! I quickly scooped him up and put him in the tank. He was stunned and layed on the bottom for a couple of seconds. I have not seen him since 1pm today. I'm bummed.

Dude.... Let's see a picture. Is this a prelude to a new tank in the works? Your current tank is to small for such a fish.
