Re: Triggerjays new 125g Build thread

Jason clear glue is toxic for some reason it continues to leach chemicals in to the tank. A possible solution it to fill the tank with water & bleach & run it for a day or so & then drain & fill again with water & vinegar. After that I would fill it a 3rd time & test the tap water before it is in the tank & then after the tank has run awhile

Not to sound silly,... But what exactly should I be testing for that is toxic?

Re: Triggerjays new 125g Build thread

the unfortunate side to that would be it would have to be done @ a lab. To test for the chemical makeup of the glue. Have you ever noticed the really strong smell in the clear that is the chemical & for the life of me I cant remember what it is. Of course to I dont have any clear around

Re: Triggerjays new 125g Build thread

Heres the specs in the return pump:
Iwaki MD100RLT 1" / 1" 2000 gph 39.0 Japenese motor

And the CL pump:
Sequence Reeflo Dart 2" / 1.5" 3600 gph - max head 12 ft

Skimmer pump is a Sedra 9000 Needle wheel

As a guess, I would say I get about 1200gph from the Iwaki, and near max from the sequence, as there is not much head on it (Its under the stand). So my guess would be around 4100 GPH or so.. I went overkill on the overflow. I think I could have gotten by with 2 1-1/2" drains, instead of four. I am going to clean the skimmer tonight,.. lol

Re: Triggerjays new 125g Build thread

Picture update:

I hate the way my overflow came out. I will be removing it soon, and installing a new, much smaller version.. and it will be black.
