Re: Lynn's 20g clown tank.

Enjoyed the video, Lynn...thanks! Someday I will get the hang of the photography and videography skills that I was unaware one needed in this hobby! :smck: The clowns look like they're moving triple time...very fast!
Love seeing Sparkles so happy...he's quite the builder! (If there was a cheerleader smiley, I'd put it here! )

Re: Lynn's 20g clown tank.

It looked like almost all of the food was consumed in a minute so wouldn't that be about right as far as the amount?

Love your clowns and their anemones. The way the one jumped out to look at you as if to warn you to stay away from his home was great!

Re: Lynn's 20g clown tank.

Well Barb I will half admit it. I do overfeed. (See I admitted it.) But all of the videos were taken the same day when I was trying out the new mush. Plus I had to have some real action in the tank for the video. I get away with the overfeeding by having giant skimmers and 20% water changes every 2 weeks. So I do feed a lot but not that much.

Re: Lynn's 20g clown tank.

LOL you are absolutely right. I have water mixing as we speak. If hubby waits for me to get home, I'll be sure to get video tonight. Since he is home today he may do it before I get there. I'll try to get ahold of him and talk him into waiting till I get home for this tank. He can stay busy doing the other two.

Re: Lynn's 20g clown tank.

Well this tank was completely re-done last night.
Emptied down to the sand to take out the wrasse and move it to the reef.
Why? Well to add my new high fin goby with his buddy pistol shrimp. No pics of the shrimp but the goby came out for dinner.
Also the really great mushroom rock I bought Frank yesterday.
The anemone is still really mad and the clowns are hidden in it so they didn't get any pics taken.

Re: Lynn's 20g clown tank.

I love my clown gobies. I have one in the reef and one in the 20g. I will probably end up with one in the 90 as well since they are such little characters. I have seen him grab huge pieces of food right out of the clowns mouth. I love the way they are always perched on things. The one in the reef usually perches on one of my clams and they don't seem to mind at all.

Re: Lynn's 20g clown tank.

Great video, Lynn! Though I do have a question.

Is that a normal amount of flow for a tank? It looks like it is a heck of a lot, but I've only ever seen my tank and the ones at the LFS. I'd have to say I have less than a third as much water movement.

Re: Lynn's 20g clown tank.

Thanks for the compliment. The tank has actually been re-done since that video. I really should take a new video.
I don't know if it is normal flow or not. My 90g has a lot less flow but it was set up for seahorses and jawfish.
The reef has about the same flow as the 20g.
All of the flow is provided by one maxijet 900 powerhead that is on the back of the tank. There is also some flow from the skimmer.
I like to get the air exchange provided by the ripples on the surface particularly in that tank since it has a closed top so I am always concerned about heat even though it is just T5 lighting.
