Re: Here We Go Again!

I love the photos showing the growth. That is pretty cool. Just wait a couple more months and make it three pics etc. That would be really neat.

I use a piece of black cardboard to create the desired light/shadow effect. To generate a Spotlight effect, I cut an hole in the cardboard and hold the cardboard over the photoobject that it is lighted up just enough. The rest of the picture thereby looks very dark. To strengthen the effect something else you can put the aperture (F) around ½ lower then normal or also shorten the exposure time just a little.

ScubaDrew, those little starfish are in nearly every rock I have. They never come all the way out, but their tentacles are always waving.

Re: Here We Go Again!

I cut my feedings in half because of the hair algae. But after only 3 days, several of my corals look a little skinnier. Like my torch, my yellow ric, my alien eye brain, and one of my sets of zoas. I'll be doing a water change and test tomorrow so I'll see if it's water related or if it is truly the feeding. I did several other things this week that were unusual so any one of them could be the culprit. I changed my actinic bulb and I supplemented Mg.

(I am chaging out one of my bulbs at a time.)

Nice pics! What program do you use? I am definitely going to have to get some lessons from ya when I get my new camera!

Re: Here We Go Again!

The program is called Morpheus and it came free with Photo Explosion Deluxe. The whole program cost about $40 at Best Buy I think. Photo Explosion is like a watered down version of Photoshop.

Hundreds....and all I really do is crop and resize anyway. No need for all the fancy shmancy stuff.

Yeah, Photoshop is hard to use, but it is also very rewarding and it gets to be fun! Expenive, though, that is for sure!

Re: Here We Go Again!

Today is Tank Day so that means a water change, thorough cleaning, water tests, and your favorite...more photos! Plus this is month three of my reef so I'll be doing a recap of my chronicle and new tank shot this weekend. Lots to do!

Before I get started on all of that, here are a few photos I took this morning.

Here I am hand feeding Clownie a flake of food. (I don't put flakes in the tank any more, but I will hand feed Clownie one once in awhile.)

These palys are getting a flourescent green mouth! Totally unexpected.

And last, but certainly not least, you must check out my thread: Fraggies are Here Part Deux!
Lots of photos and surprises.

Re: Here We Go Again!

Oddly enough, I think I just got negative Karma. It was from a person with only 2 posts and it was attached to the round robin thread. There was no note or description why it was negative karma.
