Thanks for the compliment Drew! I cannot believe the quick growth either. It is much faster than I would have imagined. Maybe I have a blue thumb after all!

Re: Here We Go Again!

I have to say a great big thank you to everyone who has helped me along this journey.

I was just gazing into my tank and NOT having to peer through a curtain of bubbles. It occurred to me that I have been frustrated a few times almost to the point of giving up. You all keep cheering me on and helping me solve the problems I run into. I feel like this is OUR tank instead of MY tank.

I've only just started my reef, but every day I see amazing things I never could have experienced without your help and guidance.

Re: Here We Go Again!

Oh! I almost forgot to mention, my new lobphilia almost completely dissolved. I pulled it out of the tank today and it smelled like dead fish. I did a 10 gal. water change trying to catch all of the nastiness that drifted around the tank when I removed it. =O(

Oh no! At least we've all learned that some corals make look a "pretty white", but they might actually be bleached!

Re: Here We Go Again!

Well it took me a couple days on and off to read this and it looks like you've come along way. I hope to have some of the same success with my tank that I've just started up recently.

Re: Here We Go Again!

Melanie, I have to tell you that frustration is part of the hobby. It happens and there is nothing you can do but go with the flow. I woke up this morning to my return pump running dry and about 10 gallons of water gone from the big tank. I had reset my skimmer to run a bit wetter last night. All I could say was where's the carpet cleaner and oh well, I had to do a water change this weekend anyway. So, I did it this morning instead.

There will always be something but it's the rest of the time when you get to look at your tank and appreciate it's beauty that makes it all worth while. You now have a beautiful tank to enjoy. Enjoy it. As you add things a little at a time some will work and some won't. Fortunately, it's something that you can watch every day and see something new. You'll soon forget the troubles that you had getting to where you are today. We all advised you but, you're the one who did all the work and now you have a tank that you can be proud of.

Re: Here We Go Again!

If I've helped your tank in any way you are welcome.
If not, I'm sorry. I should have tried harder. lol

Great tank by the way!

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: Here We Go Again!

Today's Test Results 4:00 PM
pH 8.3
SG 1.0255
Ammon. 0 ppm
Nitrate 0 ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm
Phosphate 0 ppm
dKH 9
Ca 400 ppm
Mg 1170
Temp 79

I cleaned the glass with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It really is MAGIC. Thanks AQTCJAK!

Due to the low Mg reading, I dosed 4 tsp. (20 g.) Seachem Reef Advantage Mg. I will test again tomorrow.

Looks like I may switch to Reef Crystals (I have a bucket of that too.) My Ca dropped dramatically since I switched to Instant Ocean and now I don't want it to go any further.

I got a little crop of hair algae and none of my fish or inverts seem interested in it. May persuade me to choose a different fish for my next one. Speaking of, I need to see how long it's been since the Neon Goby died to see how much longer I need to leave my QT fallow.

One of my xenia has attached itself to my big zoa rock. I'm probably going to scrape it off. I don't like it there. My shroom frag has now attached itself to one of my rocks so I'm happy about that. I'm noticing little tiny white seastars on the glass that I kill every day with the MagFloat.

Nothing really new to photograph. Everything is happy and healthy looking.
