Sorry Mel is OT.....
Those prices are crazyI can sell a mated pair of crossahtches for 1/2 that price

Thank you tbittner! I got the Sony Cybertshot DSC-T200 8.1 MP. I spent over an hour in Ritz camera trying different cameras through their glass displays to get the ultimate macros and shooting pics across the parking lot for far away shots. This is my 4th (?) Cybershot over the years and I have loved them all.

I'm just learning all the features so my pics will probably get progressively better. (I hope!) Here are three short slideshows of the pics I took on Sunday with this new camera.

10 shots
10 shots
2 shots

I'm so glad you are getting a ricordia! They seem to be doing so well in my beginner reef! Very hardy and growing fast.

Here is a pic of that same glowing ricorida in the daylight.

PS HMA, I don't mind if you guys go off topic! Chat away....

Re: Here We Go Again!

Sometimes I just think life is a dream! I have been having the best week ever and today was just the cherry on top.

Scott (Dentoid) sent me two fraggies from his tank! He read my thread about collecting some frags from my RS friends and he was my very first!

I'm so excited because not only are these my first RS Friend Frags, but my first SPS as well! They are two montis. And Dentoid, knowing how green I am, was kind enough to send detailed instructions on placement as well.

I'm going to post some photos of the whole process later this evening or tomorrow.

Re: Here We Go Again!

That's great! Scott chose well with montis too. They were the first SPS I tried. Last club meeting I got my first Acro. After listening to prows redbug problems, I'm putting my QT into full time operation. You may want to QT what you get as well. Just a thought.

Re: Here We Go Again!

I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience QTing your corals and your first acro.

I'm just floating on cloud 9 right now!

Oh, guess what I saw for the first time tonight? I flipped on the lights for a second to take a photo of my new frags and my brains had their sweeper tentacles out! That was crazy. I cannot believe how long they are!

Re: Here We Go Again!

Glad you got them in one piece. Looking forward to some pictures and their long term success. Aside from acros, montis, IMO, are the quintessential reef coral. I'm happy to be a part of your reef!

You now have a piece of Dotty's former home! You can see that frag just to the left of Dotty in this picture. She used it to help fortify her burrow!

Re: Here We Go Again!

Christopher I can't remember whether it was a yuma or florida ricordia. We could ask flricordia. It was $30 for one tiny 1.5" ricordia! And that was one of the cheap ones at the LFS!

Re: Here We Go Again!

This is sort of off-topic, but since it's my thread after all, I want to share just how wonderful everything has been the past week.

It started when my husband unexpectedly sent me flowers at work with a card that read "Happy PRE anniversary! Love, Your Husband."

Then we actually had our anniversary and I got the best camera ever. I'm having a blast with it and couldn't be happier with my choice.

My water tests on my tank were great and all the plumbing work I did worked perfectly. All my corals and fish look happy and healthy.

I absolutely love my job, my boss, and my team. I found out that I am probably (crossing fingers) getting a HUGE promotion with a big raise, my own office, and a secretary. Work is going so well in multitudes of other ways that would probably bore you to tears, so I'll save you the details.

And finally, Scott (Dentoid) was so generous and kind to send me two frags from his tank. He wouldn't even let me pay for the shipping. He is really a prince and I'm so lucky to have met him (on RS).

Life really is a dream and I couldn't be happier.
