| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Here We Go Again! Personally I think it looks like an awesome start. Nice job on the aquascape. I wonder what happened to the corraline in the 10g. Have you tested for calc? The good news it that it has nothing to do with the biological filtration so it is nothing to worry about with fish. Usually Pro Reef tests great but I have gotten a low mag reading on occasion. I wouldn't think that it would have that effect or that quickly though. Guess it is just one of those mysteries. Meanwhile the tank looks great and the shrimp looks nice and gooey. Just what you want to get that cycle going.

| Golden Moray | Re: Here We Go Again! Tank is looking great. Remember that patience is a virrtue. Hang in there. Glad that you are happy with the skimmer (I knew you would be). You can forget about adjusting it. Once you get it tuned in the way you like, it will continue to perform as long as you maintain a stable sump level. |

| Golden Moray | Re: Here We Go Again! I got my new lights today. I took a quick snapshot to show you how they look. Finnex HO T5 54wt X4. Dr. Hank sold me his old set-up. I'm very happy so far. I'm nervous about going out of town. I had a good idea for the guy who is taking care of my tank. Feel free to use it. I bought a $.99 weekly pill organizer that is just perfect to hold a day's amount of food. No risk of overfeeding! I'll just divide out every day's perfect amount of food and he can feed it. This would even work for frozen food if you keep it in the freezer. I'm going to just give him the flake food this time. Louis (my firefish) is very happy with the flakes. So is Hermes the crab. The only scary part is the top off. He'll have to do it in the display for sure because that thing evaporates about a gallon a day! When I had the glass top it would evaporate about a cup every other day. What a difference since I removed the glass lid. |

| Golden Moray | Re: Here We Go Again! Thanks Dentoid! I may get a little epoxy to stick my little bridge together. It seems pretty sturdy but I love my hermit and I don't want to have it fall when he's cruising around. I just ordered the vinyl black background and I'm so excited for it to come while I'm on vacation. Although my light blue wall looks nice, I prefer the look of a black background. It really makes the fish pop. I mean, if I ever GET fish. ha ha ha. |

| Golden Moray | Re: Here We Go Again! A watched pot never boils and a tank you test every day never cycles. I'm back!! Thanks Lynn (lcstorc) for the birthday call! I had a great trip but boy am I glad to be home. I drove 10 hours today and I'm beat. I drove through Tampa and called Tampa Bay Saltwater to see if he was open and I could stop by and take a look around, but I don't think he has a shop. Just got the machine. As you might have guessed by my opening sentence, my tank finally cycled!!! All readings 0 tonight!! Yeah yeah yeah! Of course I'm too exhausted to even think of doing anything to it, but I'm off work tomorrow. |
