Ill try, I am not sure how to tell if its working....haha. When you rinse the Seachem Phosguard before using it in your tank it smokes and gets hot so dont let that surprise you! The only thing that bothers me is I have no way of knowing how many GPH is going through it....

My tank is too small to have a algae eating fish like a tang or a rabbit fish so I might have to start manually removing the hair algae bushes. I am really looking forward to the big annual sale next weekend, te LFS is suposed to get a ton of flame angels! And my QT tank will be set-up!

Re: 50g FOWLR Setup

Thanks guys! I think that one will add a ton of color, especially since it will be an active fish always swimming around. Right now I have the dartfish who is like a hockey goalie and never goes far from his home, then the cardinal floats all around but not much color there.

Re: 50g FOWLR Setup

I just posted but it didnt work so sorry if this is a repeat.

The tank move is tomorrow and the rest of the move was yesterday, we have the apt. until the end of the month so we got a head start. Everything went well except I forgot the sink modification kit for the ro/di unit and couldnt set-up the QT tank last night as planned. I am going at lunch to get it and top off the tank though!

Then I put the kitty in the bathroom because all the people and moving was scarring her and she had no where to hid. Unfortunately I didnt put her potty box in there with her and when we got on the freeway she had had enough of holding it in and went pee in my car! Poor kitty....

Needless to say at lunch I am alos going to get some spray for the car!

Oh man! Nothing worse than cat pee.

I feel for you though. Poor kitty. Congrats on getting most things moved! Now you can concentrate on your tank.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Re: 50g FOWLR Setup

our cat had a unrinary tract infection & went on the bathroom rug. we just threw it out thinking it would be too hard to get smell out since it was so strong, it could of peeled the paint off the walls

Re: 50g FOWLR Setup

Thanks Terry, I enjoy the pics you put up recently of your flame angel. I have been spraying the car all day with special stuff so hopefully in a week or so it will come out.

I am almost done filling the "QT" tank up with water. I am going to put the fish in it while I setup the big tank during the move, thats why I called it a "QT" tank cause it wont really be used for that purpose until after they are out of it.

I found a garden hose adapter for the ro/di unit so that was a plus since I cant find the sink adapter from the move. Ok, lets hold our breath for tomorrow!!!

OHHHHH!!! I should be getting a chiller this weekend too, along with a new fish, most likely a flame angel. We will see.

Re: 50g FOWLR Setup

The move went pretty good I think. Still not totlay done setting back up yet. It took 2 days to fill the tank with ro/di water because it wasnt made ahead of time and I cant stay up past 11pm or my head will explode the next day. Everyone was in the QT tank except the corals until last night. Seemed to be just fine and I had tested the QT water first too.

I still need to adjust the main tank a little because its noisy and in my room. When it was in the living room at the apt. it was nearly silent except for the skimmer and I dont have that running yet. Its the overflow. I just need the make the pvc in the outer box lower to avoid the sucking noise.

Then I still need to screw the light ficture to the hood and put that on the tank, aquascape, re-fil the Qt tank as I used some to fill the main faster and test the maint anks water params again.

I have pics but still on camera due to time and tiredness.

We are in the process of moving and this is the kitty cat fort that my fiance built for some reason.....

And here is my sad attempt at tank photography, tried some full tank shots both front and side....oh and I switched my lights so that either all blue or all white is on instead of one of each with each switch so now the green really shows up in the am and the pm...

i love the aquascapeing you did. plenty of live rock and a lot of room for the fish to swim and hide. good job!!!

Re: 50g FOWLR Setup

I am a little frustrated this morning. I went to the big 2 day sale at the LFS and asked to buy a flame angel and come by to pck it up tomorrow and the guy wouldnt hold it for me. You would think with the money I spend there and plus I wasnt asking to just hold it I was going to pay for it first....jeez

Hopefully it will be there tomorrow when I head home. They had about 7 but I wanted the one that came right up to the glass and was friendly.

Tomorrow I am hoping to be finally caught up enough to go under the house and run the internet cable so I can post pics and all that jazz.

Re: 50g FOWLR Setup

Thats what I dont understand though, I was going to pay them right then and there, it wasnt like they were not going to get paid. But anyways, In a few minutes I am going to see a guy about a chiller and then head back up and stop by the LFS to see if they still have it there.
