Looking good Drew! Where did you get those mangroves? I'd like to try them out.

Re: STT to VT

I got them on ebay. I got 15 of them, only using about 5. If you only want 5 or so, I'd be happy to send them along as they just got stuck in a planter as a decoration.

Re: STT to VT

Thanks for the heads up here. they really did have a big mass of roots just in shipping.

Perhaps I'll lift them up instead of placing the roots in the sand. This way I can keep an eye on the root mass. hmmm.

Drew, how is your orange sponge doing?
I looked at my orange and purple this evening and most of the cells were open again.

Re: STT to VT

Hey Drew, tank is looking good. I actually have the lighting setup that was on that tank. It's on my frag tank now.

I'm pulling down my 90gallon and downgrading to a 12G nano. Thought you might be interested in some of the livestock, maybe some of the live rock, etc... I will be fragging everything and keeping a piece of all the corals, but the main colonies I will be letting go very reasonable. Shoot me a PM if your interested.

I was down in NYC for the weekend, but the wonderful friend of mine who watched my tank for me indicated the orange sponge did open up one evening. I've kept a close eye on it, but have not seen it open myself.

Thanks for the update!

Re: STT to VT

This thread is very entertaining! Is there another mantis, Drew?

Exclamation Re: STT to VT

Lunch today was a very scary scene.

This shell was laying on the side of some LR. White flesh was attached but hanging off. What ever lived in this shell, which has a barnacle on the back side was forcefully removed. It is the largest loss the tank has seen, with the shell the size of my thumb.

Could a mantis be to blame for this? The mantis I caught is SMALLER than the shell, so if there is another one, I think its larger.

Re: STT to VT

Scary stuff! At least it is good that whatever was in that little shell was your biggest loss, instead of 5 fish...

Re: STT to VT

On a more entertaining note, here are some still shots of a small hermit trying on a larger (too large) shell, finding him self unable to move said upgrade, and resorting back to the old casa.

I'm going to get them more shells today.

YAR! A new shell?!

Seems shes sturdy enough

Line em' up

And Slide it over
