Re: DrHank's Tank's

Dr H, I am sure you thought of this, but in case you haven't because I sure didn't until someone said it when I was considering the 90 as a reef also, the bigger the tank the more corals you have to buy if its a reef. FOWLR tank you buy your fish and basically you are done, you aren't always trying to fill spaces with corals to have an outstanding reef.

Nice photos and big nem. Welcoem to the Nem club!

You just can't control nature Dr. Hank.
You would be surprised what can live under the edge of a large sebae.
It's a microcasm all it's own.

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: DrHank's Tank's

That's very true. The 155 bowfront will be a FOWLR. My wife insists on a lionfish, and a large angel (majestic, blueface, annularis, etc.), and a large tang. Even in a FOWLR, you can often have a few softies (some just don't taste good to the angel). The lionfish and tang won't bother them..

Awesome additions, Doc! I think the nem and goby paired up because they got to talkin' and found out they were both new in the neighborhood...

been doing a lot of research and reading, some formal papers, most by experienced hobbyists. IMO you are 100% correct re: coral population......there always seems to be an empty space that MUST be filled!! LOL LOL The thing is: it is very beneficial for energy transfer (nutrient exchanges) if as much of the sand bed is open to water flow and not covered by rock. This makes it imparitive to somehow raise as much of the rock off the sand as we possibly can. I plan to have a system of rock elevation integrated with PVC water jets in my new 300 gal. set up. This may be as simple as a PVC frame network drilled with small holes.
