| Golden Moray | Re: DrHank's Tank's Yes. I try to keep my hands out as much as possible. I've always loved Frogspawn but it does get big. Would you believe that the next thing that I have to thin though is my blue/green ricordia's. They are growing everywhere and as aggressive as they are, they will sting my other corals to death. I found them getting one of my green acros two days ago. I'm just about at the point that I have too many corals. |

It's ALL gotta go!! Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change. | Golden Moray | Re: DrHank's Tank's Al, I'll see what I can do. Basile I would be careful with the placement of the LPS. With the sweeper tentacles they extend, they can do a number on your SPS Wound up having to frag part of my birds nest when it got stung by a piece of Favite I had placed too close. Other than that just go slow and watch out for flatworms. Good luck. |

| Golden Moray | Re: DrHank's Tank's Ok Al, you asked for updates so here goes. I just shot some pictures today. At this point you could say that my build is long since done and the chronicle moves on. The first shot is for those that may not have seen it before. It's of that plating or stacking coraline. I think it's one of the neatest things in my tank. I'm really careful to stay well away from it because it appears so delicate. ![]() Next is a frogspawn on the left and a Hammer on the right. I happen to have gotten three of my fish into the picture as well. You should spot two easily, the third takes a bit of looking but I'd concentrate around his home. ![]() If you happened to miss him, here he is. ![]() Moving a bit to the right here's a shot of some of the corals. I've got a mix of LPS, SPS, and Softies. ![]() Next is one of my favorite Acros. I've had it about a year and it has doubled in size in that time. ![]() If I pull back a little and swing to the right you can get a look at how the center is now arranged. I usually try to leave things alone once they go into the tank but if I see a coral being stung, I try to find it a better spot. ![]() Some of you may also remember the big mushroom that I've had for about 4 years now. He started out in my 110 gallon XT before I built my 200 gallon and is one of the first corals I got after we moved to our current home. Here's a picture of it now. When I got my pink skunk clown, he declared it his home and he can often be seen either protecting it or resting in the crown. Looks like my fish are out for a bit of a swim as well. ![]() Finally, the little baby toadstools that you see in this picture are from the base of my large one. It decided to move from one rock to another last year and left part of itself behind. I'll subdivide the rock later and keep one of the baby's. My wife won't let me frag the big one. Maybe I can talk her into letting me trade it to our local Gulfarium for some credit. Probably just wishful thinking on my part though. ![]() Well folks, that's it for this time. I'm at the point that I'm rarely adding anything to my tank these days. I am planning to change over from MH to T5s. Getting tired of subsidizing the electric company. I'll miss the shimmer but not the heat and the current draw. The only other thing I'm working on is a Turf Scrubber. I'll let you know how I like it next year. Hope you all enjoy the eye candy. I'll see if I cant get some shots under my Actinics for later. |
