| Plate Coral | Re: My Confession Hmmm. Still not enough flow from the fluval. I could buy 3 new power heads and put them at various spots in the tank, or I could ditch the Fluval (took all the filter media out a long time ago anyway. Kept getting blocked up with pods), and buy a bigger return pump, then plumb it to have multiple outlets! Guess which I chose?

| Plate Coral | Re: My Confession Just another pitch for RS. I bought the RIO because it was the only pump OceanWonders had in stock that day, and I'm not a big fan of online shopping. Checked RS when I got it home, and came up with this: What's wrong with RIO? I haven't gotten rid of the RIO yet, but it's in the works. Missed out on the FinsDepot free shipping special by a day! ![]()

| Plate Coral | Re: My Confession That's my tank as it sits today. Still no leaks from my Terrarium turned sump (good thing I ripped that warning off, otherwise there's no telling what could have happened!) As for now, I hope you've enjoyed the story, but I'm off to Ocean Wonders for some salt mix. Ran out a few days ago, and I need to do a water change in the worst way!

| Plate Coral | Re: My Confession Hoorah for surprise sales!! I'd been thinking of switching to Instant Ocean for a while now, and wouldn't you know that it would be on sale today! This does mean that I'm going to have to do only a 5% change instead of the planned 20%, but hopefully I'll get enough of the algae out anyway. Glad you've enjoyed it thus far. I'm all out of karma for the day. I'll have to catch up with you all tomorrow.

| Plate Coral | Re: My Confession WHY DO I ALWAYS READ THE LABELS?! Alright, getting ready to cut the IO bag open and figure I might as well read the bag to make sure it's the same ratio as the OCEANIC I had been using... Then my eye wanders to the dreaded CAUTION: In case of contact [in dry form] flush skin with cool water and SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION?! WTF?! Oceanic doesn't have a warning like that! What's in this stuff that I'd have to call my corpsman if I get it on my skin?! To make matters worse, I used my last disposable nitrile glove yesterday! I think this will have to become a new Help-me thread warning on Instant Ocean?

| Plate Coral | Re: My Confession Well, 2.5 gal water change, LoL. Not much, but trying to introduce the new salt really slow. Nothing shriveled up and died yet, so that's promising. I talked with the owner of the LFS about RIO's today. Apparently, he used to carry other brands, but the SEIO never sold, and the QUIET ONE kept getting returned for 'being too loud' (which is a customer comment on nearly every site I've found so far). He now uses RIO's exclusively in all of his, and his customer's tanks. He has done so for about 5 years now without any problems. This fills me with hope that I will not have to replace my little 1700 after all.
