Re: The 90G Build.

Well got the lighting squared away for the time being. I hate to use the word just for now when It comes to this hobby, but I figured this would be fine for the FO setup. My first thought was to get the retro fit but after thinking It through for awhile I really didnt want to deal with wires and trying to mount It. I have used current lighting In the past and was pretty happy overall so I just ended up sticking with them.

Nova Extreme T5H0 | Current What's Next

NOVA EXTREME T5HO

Well till I see It with the tank filled I guess thats as good as It gets.

Re: The 90G Build.

Looks great! Nice job on the sump. Everything fit in perfectly. Those lights should be fine for more than FOWLR. T5s are excellent lights and should allow you to keep most corals etc.
Can't wait to see it with water and livestock.

Re: The 90G Build.

Thanks, unfortchantly I cant take credit for the sump. I'm lucky to have LFS down the street from that carries a wide and pretty nice selection of corals as well as live stock. Actually Its the same place where I purchased the tank also. The owner Rob at Oceans Below designed and peiced together the sump. The amazing thing was everything actually fits pretty nice.

Re: The 90G Build.

Verry nice so far, But just a few things that conserns me.
I am by no means picking at you work, but there is nothing more fustrating than taking things apart and doing it over.
Ok, The white teflon tape you used is ok but I see the treads showing, I know this part isin't under pressure but the treads are course so you might have some leakage there. I would use the yellow teflon tape IMO is easyer to use. Like I said White is fine but yellow is almost fool proof IMO.
Next, I don't see any purple prime on your glue joints, unless that is just a dry run for now and if it is before you take it apart and glue it mark all your joints with a marker so you can line them up perfect.
again sorry if you know all of this.
Good luck.

Re: The 90G Build.

Looks like you've done a good job on that plumbing, my concern is your main display overflowing. You have cut down on the drain twofold. First, you have plumbed two drains into one of the same diameter. Second, you have added a valve to the one drain line. If you cut back on the drain anymore your main display will overflow. Unless you can control the return pumps to match the drain rate. You would have much more control by plumbing a T into the return line with a valve going back to the fuge. I learned this from a RS friend-Woody! I'm sure you have this all figured out, just something to think about!

Re: The 90G Build.

Thanks for the input all Is welcome and appreciated The bulk head fittings do just have the basic white teflon but also there Is a coat of liquid teflon as well. And as far as the purple primer goes never used It and Its a real personal preference IMO, I allways use clear cleaner and glue. I dont what It Is I just hate looking at that purple color when It comes to fitting pipe. Knock on would I havent had a problem yet with hard plumbing but this Is what Iv allways used.

Ya to tell you the truth this Is the second time around plumbing the drain. I originally went with 1"1/4 piping but I figured It was more than really needed so I cut It back down to an 1". Do you think 1"1/4 Is more than sufficient or should I even go 1"1/2 for the drain. Ps the return will have a T in place. Thanks.
