Re: Andy's 29 Gallon Reef

llooks great!

make sure your ATO hose is above the water line... i had mine below the water line on my 90 sump intiially, and the ATO got stuck on (i had it setup so it couldn't overflow, though), and then started a back siphon when the battery on teh pump died, into my ATO. Luckily I was there.

Re: Andy's 29 Gallon Reef

Was it your thread somewhere that you talked about the ATO, where you got it , etc. I skimmed through your posts and can't find it. I have been looking because my evaporation is ridiculous right now and although I am staying on top of it , that may soon cease for awhile as I have to go back to rehab-therapy 5 days a week for the next month or more and to begin with I have no idea how I am going to feel. Mentally I will feel great, but physically I will probably feel drained. Anyway, how is Waldo doing? Did you get anything at the LFS when you went today?

Re: Andy's 29 Gallon Reef

Charlie - That's actually something I'm worried about.. the switch getting stuck on... right now the hose is held securely to the lights, and is not in danger of falling or submersing, but I'd still be worried about the switch getting stuck on.. consequently dilluting my tank, overflowing, killing my livestock, and ruining the floor... kind of a big worry there guess maybe ATO isn't worth it in some ways... anyone have any problems like this?

Caitrina - I had a thread that I asked if anyone had bought from autotopoff.com... not sure if thats the thread you meant? What do you have to go to rehab for? sorry if you posted this someplace already, but thats new news to me... I hope you're doing okay!! Waldo is great! he's much more active, scavenging around on algae, and he sits out a lot more now and all i bought at the LFS was a bag of purigen and a bag of phosguard. It's so tempting to spend money there hehe they had this BEAUTIFUL 3" or larger Pink Yuma that looked amazing under PC's and the guy offered it to me for $75... it's marked $110 on the glass.. MAN was it nice.. but i'm going out of town, and that's a lot of money to throw away if it croaks... it's so tempting though!!

You know, I was just looking at this guy.. would anyone agree with me that it looks more like a Ricordea yuma than a Ricordea florida?

Re: Andy's 29 Gallon Reef

Ohhhhh man, that pink yuma...does he ship? I have been searching and searching for one of those...is it hot pink? Crap, you just had to bring that up, didn't you? lol That is a good price on that yuma, if it is real pink pink and not just because of the lighting, you should snatch that baby. Actually Lynn may be going to the LFS today and the guy there was supposed to be on the look out for one for me, but I kind of forgot to call him...lol..

I was in a serious motorcycle accident a year and a half ago, extensive injuries that I still deal with. , was in about 6 months of rehab just to get my arms and hands to move again, and well to keep it from boring you and to keep from sounding like a whiner (I hate that), just have to go back to therapy for other injuries to hopefully prevent any surgery.

Was there more than one polyp to that pink yuma?
Yes it was that thread, autotopoff...that was the one.

Hah, I doubt it, unless i bought it and shipped it... but i walked on the offer, so who know's if he'd still give it to me for that... It was Pink Pink too... under regular pc's it looked AWESOME so i cant imagine under actinic/led or a 14k MH it would be insane. and it looked REALLY healthy. I guess I might buy it if its there when i get back hehe (i'll be gone till next wed)

That's not fun!! I hope everything works out for you... I'm just going to be getting my motorcycle license in sept. not buying a bike or anything.. my dad just has a little scooter and i figured it couldn't hurt to take the class/get the license. I hope all of your therapy goes well!!!

Oh, and it was just the one polyp... but it's HUGE you could easily frag it 4-8 ways in pie slices. the mouth alone is prooably 3/8" diameter! The pic i just posted above looks like it's growing into a neat lil pink/green yuma

Grrrr, Andy it isn't going to be there when you get back, you know that don't you? lol I was also thinking that the pic you posted looked a bit pink myself so maybe you got something there....

You be careful if you do get a "bike" and even being on that scooter. People just don't see bikes sometimes and above all else wear a helmet.

Heh, I'm thinking of calling and holding it.. i dono though.. even $75 is alot for one piece... and i think i'd be scared to frag it if i bought it and fragged it id be happy to share it with you though.. what should i do?

Thanks for lookin out for me! I don't plan on buying any sort of motorcycle or scooter at all.. I just thought if I ever had to use my dad's for something, I'd be able to, People around here drive like crazy.. I'd be scared on a bike!

LOL, I can't tell you what to do, you gotta do what you feel you can do, but if it is as pink as you say it is and as big and you get it at that price, I think it is a good price. Some say no, but I have seen them online going for a higher price than 110.00 and they werent even in stock at the time. The LFS in Kissimmee told me (when I looked there) that they rarely get them and when they do they are gone that day and they have gotten as much as 150.00 for them. OF course than again this is an LFS talking, but it isn't the only one that said that. If it were me I would buy it, if it were pink. I have had some LFS tell me they had pink ones but they were orange when I looked at them. I want a Hot Pink one....Good luck with your decision, I guess you could get it and wait for it to split and then you could make your money back too, that is one way to think about it. I trust in your decision making, you have a good head on your shoulders and you will do what you feel is right for you and the pink guy. By the way, Pinky would be a good name for it! LOL OR was that lame? lol

Hah, Pinky! nice Thanks for the input caitrina! I just got off the phone with the LFS and asked my buddy there to write hold for andy till wed. on the glass.. said he would! awesome! I'm trying to find a picture online of a similar one to give you an idea of how it looks. It's not like a washed out pink either.. it's PINK so I think it'd look good in my coralline infested tank I'm not sure if he'll offer me it for $75 again, but I'd probably give as much as $85 if it really came down to it. Would you agree? Thanks!!
