Re: 90 Gallon Starphire Start-up

Well then it rains it pours...lots going on these days!

Ordered a Tunze 6045 for added flow nad some Rowa Phos that should be here later today. Have to love local mail order......shipping is less expensive than transit to my LFS!

Swissguard is also bringing by my first set of livestock tonight! Two tank raised OC. Clowns and a "mystery Coral" I have been told...I wonder what it will be???! Also getting a few cerith snails to start my clean up crew.

I will be sure to add more photos once all the goods are in place and happy.

Re: 90 Gallon Starphire Start-up

Ok ok...just another little update....

So my fellow and local RS friend Swissguard came by last night with the goods! Mated pair of Oc. Clowns (now swimming around behind the rocks being a tad shy at the moment...but appear happy), 9 cerith snails, and my mystery was a nice little Frogspawn frag that has opened up nicely.

I have to thanks a bunch to swissguard for going out of his way his way and helping me out. The friendliness and helpfulness of the people in this hobby never ceases to amaze me.

Once everyone comes out from hiding I will work on trying to get a few photos.

Now I want more!! I am thinking I want to add a little more color to the rocks now. I haven't done too much thinking on the coral side yet but now I need to start.

Any suggestions on some colorful, hardy corals that could be added to a new tank? Thanks for your feedback

Cheers

Re: 90 Gallon Starphire Start-up

Here are a few more pics....learning how to try and get some better quality shots. I am just using a 6.1 MP point and shoot camera for now...the last thing I have room for in my budget is a digital SLR. I added two cleaner shrimp this weekend. Clowns are getting more curious but still shy and hang out in the back corner most of the time. I am thinking of adding a school of green chromis next.

Re: 90 Gallon Starphire Start-up

Hey Vic,

I am just feeding them the ORAGlo pellets I got from you. They are eating well but wont chase far from their corner. They have been in and out of my many caves but haven't explored the main area fo the tank yet.

I like the shrimp and they are definitely not shy, so it was easy to get some close-ups.

As per the corals, I am not sure yet. Flavio has some nice Ricordia rocks on sale. I just need some color (-;

Re: 90 Gallon Starphire Start-up

Looking good.
Rics are a great way to add color and they don't need that much light.
Are the clowns out and about more now? Looks like they are getting along nicely.

Re: 90 Gallon Starphire Start-up

The clowns are a mated pair, so they seem to get along as good or better than most of us (-; They seem to have made their home in the back corner..it is viewable and they come out through my big cave sometime, but are not out in the main display much. However. as I write this they seem to have come out and are up near the front for the first time! Back and forth to the corner thought still.

I added 4 green chromis last night and the clowns have been a bit aggressive towards them. Once tried to take shelter in the cave near their corner and they did everything the could to get it out of there.

I also picked up a folded brain yesterday. Did like to color of the Rics instock so I went with the brain....

Here are a few FTS shots as well. Its all I could do to get the Chromis in the view finder.
