I thought the fans on the lights were loud at first also but you get used to them. Very quickly they will become white noise.
You may have to much flow on your return pump going back to the tank. Open up either the fuge line or the recirc line a bit more and I bet it will quiet down for you.

I have been playing with the valves... sump is super quiet. Overflow is not, and I've adjusted the return valve every which way. I'll try again... thanks!

Not adding anything till later... more rock! And, yes I know it will stir the sand up, LOL. I just expected that overnight it would settle...

Naw took me a good 2 -3 days after I stopped playin. I THINK the drain tube needs to be 1/2" to 2" down from the top of the skimmer/overflow thingy Playing with that may help also Mine is about 1"

The pipe on the left is my drain. The top of the pipe (not the nipple) is approx. 3/4" below the edge of the outer part of the black skimmer wall...

I am getting another shelf to go across the top left (where the rocks are kinda level), and some smaller pieces to blend it in. Then I will be filling in with some of the rocks with corals from the cube. Hope you enjoyed!
