Progress Update

Hello all! I figured it was about time for an update. I now have the tank, stand and sump set up in the living room. I have the plumbing laid out and I'm getting ready to cement it. It might get wet tonight...
I guess there is nothing left... except PICS!
Here ya go...

Re: 90 Gal Sick Day...

Weellll... I'm trying to get it wet!!! The return bulkhead is not being my friend. It would probably be OK if I left it alone, but I am going to try to find a seal at Lowes. Hopefully, it will see water tonight.

BTW, sock had to be big to offset the size of the jugs, LOL.

I have spent WAY to much time there recently!!!!

OK, now for the dilemma...
Return bulkhead seeping.
Nothing good at Lowes. I did pick up a sink pop-up drain gasket while I was there on the off chance that the lip on it would comfortably sit inside the hole. It didn't. So, of course I am burning my brain trying to figure out a solution. Then I remember Doni's old sump sitting on my back porch. Luckily it also had a bulkhead on one side. Of course, the seal is not the same. It's a little smaller (O.D.) and a little bit thicker. Then, I get this idea that I could put the original seal inside and the other (thicker) one on the outside. That's what I did. No leak. My question is....
WILL THIS CAUSE STRESS ON THE GLASS???

Thanks Again! I need all the help I can get!!!

Re: 90 Gal Sick Day...

Good thinking Lisa! A rubber seal will not stress the glass.

Re: 90 Gal Sick Day...

Next Question...
Will my plumbing work? Basically up from pump, 1st valve (bottom) is for recirc, 2nd (top right) feeds the fuge, 3rd (top left) adjust flow to tank.

Am I crazy?
BTW, I am going to cut the long piece at the top and put in a slip joint...

Re: 90 Gal Sick Day...

Looks good to me Lisa. Make sure you have a union at the return pump so you can remove it for cleaning easily. Of course use teflon on all threaded joints.
