Re: 90 Gal Sick Day...

Looks like you got to the important stuff. Funny thing about messes, they will still be there when you to get around to them. Glad to see everyone is safe and in water!

Re: 90 Gal Sick Day...

An excellent question. If you feel that you can match and maintain the current parameters in your 29 gallon than I would say go for it. If you're going to add a bunch of rock to increase your biological activity I'd say no and wait unitl I was sure any surge had corrected itself.

If you add all the contents of your 29 into the 90, and all parameters are the same. It will be like doing a 300% water change. I know that's not much help but if conditions are excellent in the 29 and excellent in the 90 I think you'll be fine. I still would do a slow drip acclimation and anticipate that it's not going to enjoy the move. May take a week or more to get happy again.

I'm in the process of building a 210 gallon and hope to be moving everything in both my 110 and 29 to the new tank within the month. It's always a risk but they say bigger is better. It's certainly more stable. Good luck.

If you have followed this thread from the beginning you will find a little irony in this...

And here are a few shots of the MESS!!!

Attachment 7439

Basically we took a bunch of coolers that my LFS receives their shipments in. We put large trash bags in them. The ForceFlex ones worked really well...
Filled the coolers/bags up with water and seperated the corals accordingly so that there would be no warfare going on during the move. We put the rock in coolers as well. Made sure that it was plenty wet and then we drained the rest of the water from the tank. With the exception of enough to keep the sand bed completely covered. We left the sump/refugium inside the stand for the move and drained it fairly low. Fish were put in 5 gal buckets filled with water. I used all of the original water except for about 40'ish gallons. But, it needed a water change anyway, lol.
I must say it was a challenge moving that 90 with over 120lbs of sand and however much water was still left in it. I, needless to say, was pretty sore for a few days.

What are those white/clear jugs with the handles and lid?

Curious as to where you go those..

Alright! I've seen this sick day go on for too long.
Get back to work! How else are you going to afford more corals?

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Re: 90 Gal Sick Day...

LOL... I am at work. I did get some pics the other day. I will get them posted soon I promise.

On another note...
My 29 gal Bio Cube, which was left behind temporarily (I was assured that it would be taken care of), CRASHED on Mother's Day. It was scheduled to be moved yesterday along with the rest of my belongings. Apparently the pump got clogged and wasn't pushing water into the tank. Thankfully, my mated pair of percs had been moved into my 90's refugium so that I could be sure they were fed. Anyway, I didn't get a phone call, or anything, alerting me of a problem. When I went to pick up my son on Sunday morning I immediately went to the tank and noticed the bottom half was cloudy and white. Needless to say, it was the NASTIEST, STINKIEST, mess I have ever seen/smelled. Everything is gone. Inverts... few corals... even the bristle worms were dead. Not a good day...
