Yeah it looks clean, I didn't get a chance to test it out until around 8pm tonight and of course murphy raised his little ugly head and I had some serious leakage issues. Of course by time I got around to cleaning everything up, Loews and Home Depot were closed.

I will be getting up early in the morning to go get more plumbing items to fix the darn leaks Plus things were going way to good for this not to happen.

I had the wood treated just for that reason so that that I didn't have to put plastic down. However, after tonights plumbing disaster, I'll probably put some down anyways. The water beaded up and cleaned up very easy with the treated wood.

Re: blcktitaniums 185gal Starphire or Acrylic New Tank Build

No I didn't use primer I just used clear pvc cement. I tell you it was a nightmare. I had to purchase all the new plumbing equipment, because everything was glued. $$$$$$, that I don't have.

Well then, I get home from re-purchasing everything and redo the entire plumbing job, well guess what that also leak and worse than my first attempt at it. So, once again I had to go repurchase everything. This time I got away from straight PVC pipe and went with Spa Flex.

Well, I tell you what after the third attempt and approx. $350 or so dollars later using spa flex everything worked like a charm.

The Hammerheads are awesome I mean I have a tremendous amount of flow water is moving at every level and there are no still spots within the tank.

The G3 Protein skimmer, what can I say about that piece of equipment, but damn stop working so good. I literally had to empty the tray 5 times within 8 hours this thing rocks.

Well my tank is in the process of cycling now, upon the completion of this tremendous odor producing process I will update everyone and post more pics.

Did you remove as much of the dead material as possible before placing the rock in the tank ? Do you plan to leave the lights on during the curing process ?

yeah I took as much of the dead stuff as I could before I placed it in the tank and I don't have my lights on at all during the curing process.

Glad you got through the plumbing issues! I think the hardest part is waiting for the cycle... good luck!
