Thanks, FFrankie that means a lot to me as has everyone else's support of me while I was there. Yeah just a little over 8 hours away my tank should be delivered. So said I'm too excited that I can't even sleep. Going to be so tired when the it finally gets here that I probably fall asleep in it lol.....

That right I didn't mention that, I ended up going with acrylic and having Socal Creation build it for me.

Re: blcktitaniums 185gal Starphire or Acrylic New Tank Build

Ok all it finally got here I have included some pics of the tank, stand and canopy. This thing is a monster a lot bigger than I imagined, from the base of the stand to the top of the canopy is 6 1/2 feet.

I have also include shots of my equipment that I purchased so far as well.

(2) Lumenarc 3 light fixtures
(2) 10K XM DE
(2) 250W MH Electronic Ballast
(2) ReefFlo Hammerhead Pump 5800gph ea. for Close Loop
(1) Ecosystem Aquarium Pro sump
(1) ASM G3 Protein Skimmer
(1) PM Kalkreactor
(2) TEK T5's Retrofit system incorporating a total of 4 bulbs
(1) Quite One 6000 return pump 1500gph

Now it's time for me to start the plumbing I will continue to post my progress.

Wow this is going to be one great setup !
Also you made some great selections AFA as equipment goes
Are you going to have substrate ? How much rock are you planning to add ? What do you plan on keeping for Corals ? Do you have a fish list yet ?

Re: blcktitaniums 185gal Starphire or Acrylic New Tank Build

thanks all for the compliments... Aquaman its going right where it is It is going to be a peninsula tank.

Boozeman..... Nah its a late X-mas present since I missed X-mas because I was in Iraq As far as the hammerheads yeah I've heard they are strong but I'm trying to get as much flow as possible in my tank I figure that I will have a total flow of at least 12500gph with the two hammerheads and my return pump. I've always heard the more flow the better especially for SPS's, we'll see I guess.

Cheeks69..... I only plan on have a very light substrate approximatel 1" just for looks, I plan on keeping SPS's, Clams, and yes Fish and maybe 1 or 2 LPS's. I plan on putting at least 230 to 250 pounds of rock. I pick up my rock on Tuesday.

Well, I'm working on my on my plumbing still I've noticed that I thought I had purchased everything and I double checked my self a hundred times to find out once I started to work on my plumbing that I didn't have my bulkheads So, I tried to go to some LFS and of course none of them had any and neither did Home Depot or Lowes, so now I'm at a stand still until Monday when I can go to Custom Aquatics and get bulkheads. All is well though, I'm still working on the return plumbing inside the tank where my rock will be placed on.
