Mr Bojangles 120g Money pit!

well I am gana start one, but I don't have alot of time to fully document everything in the tank right now but I can start at the very beginning and finish at the now point. I am currently in the remodeling stage of my sump/skimmer setup after working on Lynns and Franks tanks, and the coming of our first baby give me an excuse to move things around, so I will start at the beginning....................

We originally bout the tank as a complete setup from a couple back in March of 2004 with stand, wet dry, ext....... needless to say we ditched everything and just used the tank, everything was built by me from the ground up, here are some construction pics............

Back of framing.......

And now its complete! You can see that I went for being able to fully access everything with removable sides, full doors, and I even have a fraggin shelf built into the stand.

Re: Mr Bojangles 120g Money pit!

Ok, now for more, the tank was set up in our new house in May 2004, the move from our 75g went smooth, all that was lost was a green slimmer and a cleaner shrimp, I also had a coralvue lamp blow (a problem that they had when they first cam out) So I had a XM 10k in one side of the tank

Sump and frag tank...

This is when the story gets sad..... this is the time when Florida got hit with four hurricanes, it was grand time, well we were out of power for a week with no generator, it was bad..................... BUT! after a few weeks I left everything on when the power was turned on and some corals, even SPS, were still alive! Especially my encrusting green hammer that I love so much......

That's enough of the story for tonight, I will post some more tomorrow after I am done re plumping my sump

Very nice! I love the stand, canapy, etc. Karma to you for sticking with it after the hurricane. That had to be rough.

Welcome to RS! I love the way you started your chronicle.
I look forward to seeing more soon. If not I'll just harrass you again at the next meeting.
Seriously though you did a great job on setting up your tank. The stand is awesome and everything looks great. Now I know why you said ours was "easy" for you to do.

Re: Mr Bojangles 120g Money pit!

Thanks everyone! I am done cursing now since I just re plumed my tank again today! Wow, I only have one bloody knuckle to show for it. I know have a extra 25g sump with a NW-200 skimmer. My next plan of attack is to redo the plumbing for the calcium reactor, kalk reactor and my power heads.

Unfortunately my main computer with all my pics and camera hookups is down so I cant post new pics......... but I can continue my story........

.......After the hurricanes I rebuilt and had mixed results. A local reefer that I was friends with moved to miami out of harms way and donated frags to repopulate, but there where ups and downs, I would buy new stock, tank would crash, and the cycle would continue on. Here are some more pics...........

November 2004..

Had to add a fan to keep temps down........

Frag tank........

This is my old gravity auto top off and CC skimmer
