While doing my nightly spot check last night I peered in one of the tiny holes in one of the rocks and low and behold MY PISTOL SHRIMP!!! Ive declared the cleaner shrimp DOA and Im still searching for the 2nd yashia but they are so reclusive I might not see him for weeks. One of them is all over the tank after lights out. LOL Actualy it could be both of them and they are just messing with me! "Ok here he comes... I will hide this time and you swim around!"

Sorry to hear about your cleaner shrimp. It sounds like things are starting to settle down. I put 4 peppermint shrimps in my tank and have only once been able to do a roll call on them all at the same time. To this day I don't know if there are 4 left. Although, yesterday I saw 2. How are the other inhabitants?

The Pistol's that are usually shipped with the yashia gobies is the Alpheus randalli, don't know if that's the one BWolf has but I rarely heard the snapping sounds on those guys and when I did it was very faint. Now my Tiger Pistol was so loud it sounded like a driveby...

HAHA popping sounds? This guy is about 3/4" x 1/8" I doubt I could hear any sound he is capable of making. Hope is still there tonight I found a scarlet hermit crab in his cave this morning.

I kicked on another tunze today so 2 are running. The third is probably over kill ... 2 tunze = 1320 + my return which is right on the edge of being maxed so Im probably around 1900 gph (I can pump the sump dry if I crank it all the way) Dont know what I was thinking buying 3 6025's All of my stuff is used to the weak current in the Cube so Ive been moving things around today trying to make everyone happy. My momma Xenia had to be pruned way back she looked like she was getting kinda rotten. Fortunately I still have 3 good colonies from her.
Threw about 20lbs of LR in my fuge from my curing tub and added a bottle of coepods to the tank.
Skimmer is starting to produce skimate ... green tea colored
All in all everything is doing great.

I will post some pics probably tomorrow when everyone settles down.

Sept '05 tore down my reef to find the VERY loud popping sound... This is what I found..

Had a real scare this morning Came downstairs to the smell of burnt ozone and the sound of a short circuit... my heater exploded in my sump Dont know how my fish didnt fry I guess i caught it in time!

That is a pink bubblegum palyotha (zoanthid?) at least thats what I call it. I got it by accident from one of our sponsors. They sent me the wrong coral and they never told me what it was so thats what I call it. I will get a better pic for you and maybe you can tell me. Its really nice. I gave AWD (he still ascared to post here) a nice frag of it. It was growing up the back wall of the bio cube

Yes its working nicely. I have a very light bioload on the tank so it still hasnt filled even 1/4 of the cup. I have all the pieces sitting here for the gatevalve but ...if it aint broke....
