Re: 87G AGA Eventual reef

Re: 87G AGA Eventual reef

Being 3mm out of square over 1.2 meters isn't too far out of whack.

Have you tried turning the stand upside down to see if the top is square/flat?

It would be preferable to shim between the stand and floor as boozeman suggested. The tank would be better off on the flattest surface possible.

Re: 87G AGA Eventual reef

I tryed turnig it over but the other side is about the same. . .

Because this is my first custom Aquarium and stand. Are other metal or wooden stand always perfectly flat?

What do i do if i cannot return the Stand besides get into a fight with the LFS?

IME, if you are frustrated about something before you start, you will not be happy later!

I used to have a metal open framed stand. I absolutely hated it. Cords, plumbing, etc, under the stand looked like heck. I couldn't keep it clean. Dust bunnies bred there. Baby dust bunnies all the time!

I now have a woodend oak stand, and love it.

Re: 87G AGA Eventual reef

lgerold thaks for the input!

I think I will like the stand I’m planning to "close" the stand all around. I'm very excited and or impatient to get everything started and I cannot decide whether to keep the stand or not. I’m not quite sure if my aquarium will have a problem or not since it will not sit square on the stand.

Re: 87G AGA Eventual reef

I sent the stand back to the LFS and got my money back. I'll ask around for a metal stand and look into a wooden stand.

Wooden Stand

I took back the metal stand and got my money back and finally decided to go with a wooden stand. Today I picked up my lumber ready cut, later on I will start to put it together!

Re: 87G AGA Eventual reef

Just started to fit the pices together and everything seems to fit in nicely. The truth is i like working with wood. Most likely the stand will be finished tomorrow and ready for staining.
