Thanks Craig, I alway appreciate your input. There may be trouble in paradise though. I posted earlier that I thought my angel was being picked on, but now his pectoral fins on both sides are stubby and shreaded. As well my yellow tang has a whitish, cottonish area on his dorsal fin. They are very active and eating well. I think there is a mantis shrimp in the tank, but I cant find it. The Foxface and hawk are doing well. My quarantine tank is still cycling so I'm waiting before I move them. Any suggestions?

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Thank for the pic. It made me smile.
Sorry you are having problems. I wish I had helpful input for you on this one. Is the qt almost ready? I would probably pull the yellow out since it may very well be doing the damage to the angel. Another disturbing thing is a whitish cottonish area. I honestly have no clue what it is but I would be posting and scared if I saw that on one of my fish.
Is there any way to get a pic of the tang? It would help those who know to identify the problem.

I tried to get a picture last night, but the darn tang never stays in one place. I have several blurry pictures, and the ones that aren't don't show the blemish. I will try again tonight. He's only been in there for 2 weeks. My wife thinks he abraded it on the rock work. I think a mantis shrimp tried to grab him. I will be keeping a close eye on him. I put some gravel from my main tank into the QT, the ammonia is 0 but the trites are very high. My QT is 20g with no rock or gravel; just a plastic, rock ornament from Petco. I'm very concerned.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Detnoid, how is everything doing now? Everyone has me worried about mantis shrimp. I just received some live rock and I am listening closely, but I think my fish are in some kind of gang and would work together to beat the crap out of the shrimp so they could have him for lunch. Actually, they don't bother my cleaner shrimp or anything else like that so I am probably just dreaming about what would happen to an evil mantis shrimp.

Good luck on your hunt for the Bluespot. Is this the tank you had planned on putting it in?

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Everything is doing fine. I added 2-8week old Percula clowns, a Midas Blenny, a Watchman Goby, a Montipora cap and branching Montipora, some maroon 'shrooms and a green BTA. I have yet to take pictures. I have a good camera at my office, but have not remembered to bring it home. I will post pictures soon.
I had 3-4 mantis shrimps with my LR. I was able to capture two of them and they were taken by my LFS. They are the smaller, Gulf of Mexico species. I was all worried until I read Calfo and Fenners book, Reef Invertebrates... and it basically said, "... these smaller species pose little likelyhood of ruining your day... Some small invertebrates may be at risk (like snails)....but there is no need to seek and destroy these invaders." I still have one in there and thus far has not been a problem. One problem is I can not find it. I can only hear it. If and when I find its hidey hole, then I will attempt extraction. In the mean time I'm satisfied with Calfo/Fenners advice.

Yes, this is the tank I plan on adding the Blue spot jawfish. I had yellow headed jawfish when I was younger and jawfihes are one of my absolute favorites. Thanks for stopping by.

Steve your opinion is always welcome. An upgrade with a 90 gallon sump, hum-sounds monumental. Do you know anything about the husbandry of sharks!
