| Over Achiever | Re: Dentoid's Reeforama LOL! Some of us have to learn the hard way! My tank is looking pretty good today. Did a water change yesterday and cleaned the glass. Finally I got a tripod so I'm going to do a photo shoot today with my 105mm macro. I'll post some pictures later. |

| Over Achiever | Re: Dentoid's Reeforama Thanks Lorraine! I attempted to set up my Current UV sterilizer today w/o success. I don't have a lot of room in my cabinet. This is one of those projects that I have to scratch my head for awhile before I figure out how to tackle it. My peltech Geotronic heater/chiller is still sitting there too. My wife suggested putting it under the bathroom sink and running it through the wall. Well the wall behind my tank is brick! I guess it could be done, but then there will be a hole in the brick wall, not so good for resale. Dilemma! |

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Dentoid's Reeforama What sterilizer did you end up getting? A day of thinking and a trip to the local hardware store is what it took me. Couldn't believe with all the parts that thing came with that I didn't have what I needed, but I didn't. I had a hard time finding room for it, but after much thinking, then rethinking, it turned out pretty darn good. With the right plumbing parts, this one is pretty adaptable. Find a place for the primary part, then work around that. Think vertical, horizontal...stand on your head...turn it around....stand upside down again and that should about do it. The chiller I'm clueless about.

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Dentoid's Reeforama Try this permalink: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank I was trying so hard to use the clamp that came with it, but in the end I don't even need to use a clamp to keep it in place. Just took some more pics of it installed, will resize them and post as well. Here are the additional pics of what the previous pics don't show well. I also have mine feeding my fuge, so had additional dilemma dealing with that. A nice glass of wine helped! Good luck! (Oh, and I didn't clean it up before I snapped the shots if you hadn't already figured that out.) Oh and oh, the valve is to allow me to adjust the flow for the fuge, it appears that it has to be completely open all the time, so about half of the flow goes back to the sump, the other half goes into the fuge. The Rio also has a valve that I have slightly closed to control the level of the fuge tank.

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Dentoid's Reeforama Can you hang it on the ceiling in the stand over the sump? That's where my last one was. You could also attach it on the side of the stand and run plumbing over to the sump, or what about putting it inline after the return pump going back to your tank? I think these are rated pretty high on the flow rate, but you would have to check the flow rate of your pump. Woody did hers that way, not sure how it is working out. Today I redid my topoff container for about the fourth time. I likes it! Will post pics in my thread ~ 16 gallons!
