I had to put my fuji on sports mode to get some pics but the picture quality degenerates in that mode. Our new cam does a lot better. Please post when you 'catch' him.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Thanks Kim. At least the shrimp is getting a meal. I was thinking about getting another one, but I already have 4 peppermints, a fire shrimp and this cleaner. I'd like to get the peppermints out and replace with prettier species. Note to self: catch those peppermints!

Well after about 100 shots, I got a couple of good ones of my Cherub angel, thanks for the coaxing Rhonda.

Another shot of my Clowns. Do I have a Black Onyx clown?

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Nice angel, and clowns too! I don't know about your clowns, the Black Onyx get darker as they mature. Did you buy them as a pair? In the top photo I don't see hardly any dark on them, yet in the bottom photo the one looks like it could be.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

The black is mainly on the dorsal half of the fish which is out of the frame in the first picture. They were tank raised juveniles when I bought them and they were sold as True perculas. They were all orange, but as they have matured one has gotten bigger and is turning black. I'm not that familiar with clown coloration, so I was just wondering, it looks somewhat like the ones you just acquired. How was the refurbish on your friends 75G?

Love the cherub! Cool little fish! I also am fascinated by the cukes! I think they are some of the weirdest things!

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

The Black Onyx is just a color variation of the True Perculas. Mine have black throughout the entire body, except a bit of orange near the fins and head.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Bummer on the Gramma, but congrats on the new addition. Beware adding too much livestock too soon as it can upset the balance of the tank. Hope the Cherub isn't a carrier of anything bacterial/viral!

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Great pics. Glad the blue moved back to his home. Hopefully the cucumber will stay away this time.
That angel is gorgeous. I hope he doesn't start picking on your corals when he gets bigger.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments!

Lynn, I hope he doesn't pick on the corals as well. Even as a juvenile, he is constantly picking on the rock work. It's exhausting to watch! I have read that the Cherubs are less likely to pick at corals as other angels, we'll see.

Mattman, I agree the cucumbers are out of this world. But it does a great job of vacuuming the gravel. It's a little rascal though, always taking over my jawfishes burrow!

Craig, I could kick myself for not QT'ing the Cherub. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
