Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Thanks Lynn. I have learned so much from this site, even in the short time I have had my tank running. Keep eye out for my progress-I'll keep you posted.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Thanks JFK. I've been tagging along on that thread and I too think it's a good idea. I plan on looking into one of those caulerpa, chomping hares this weekend.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Well I've finally added some fish after their quaratine. Here are some pictures. My Long Nose Hawk-I love this fish, he has much personality.

And a Flame Angel-not sure what it will do with the coral. Hopefully, it'll behave.

I have also added a Foxface Rabbit Fish, but he's really shy right now and only comes out when there is no one around.

My LFS is getting in a new shippment of corals today-I can't wait to finish up at my office!

Hello and welcome to RS!.... and back to the hobby

Nice introduction and great photos.I applaud you on your thoroughness and patience.. Kudos to you quarantining your new fish!

I have a tigertail cucumber too. It has grown from 3" to approx 10-12" Mine stays on the bottom and eats the sand. It does a great job of cleaning it

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Here are some earlier shots. Sorry they are out of sequence, but I forgot I had these.

Full tank with the first installment of LR, November 10, 2006.

The "industrial area". It has since become very cluttered. I have added a Korallin Ca reactor, a Red Sea ozonizer, a Neptune Aqua Controller III and 2 Ecotech, Marine Vortech propeller pumps.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Here is what it looks like today, January 9, 2006.

I have added a few things. Can you find Elmo?

It's getting a bit tight. Maybe I need a bigger tank, or smaller sump. I've been considering converting the trickle area into a refugium and getting rid of the blue filter block. It would take some engineering though.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Well yesterday I added a yellow tang. He is doing great and it chomping down on the caulerpa. My fox face is also doing a number on it as well. I noticed my flame angel has some tears in his caudal fin. Could it be the fox face or the long nose hawk?

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

My flame angel is very well behaved with all my corals and other fish (except other small angels). The tear could just be from the stress from adding new tank mates. Watch him for a few days.

Just got myself a sea hare also. He is a very interesting creature. So big, yet fits in the smallest holes.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks Bluespotjawfish. I looked at my lfs for a sea hare but no luck. I understand that sea hares rock! Did you add it to help control algea?

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Could be harrassment from the tang and fox face. Keep a close eye on the angel as they can be suscuptible to stress from other tank mates.
