Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

I'd give anything for a bigger tank! Unfortunately, I don't have the space for one.

I would never have a tank at my office. First of all, it's too cliche'. Second, I like to keep my hobby at home. It's more pleasurable to work on my hobby at home than it is to spend extra time in the office. We have an extensive art collection, so I will use my future office as more of an art gallery.

Do you at least play Finding Nemo in the waiting area?

Sounds like you need a bigger house!

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

This decision has probably saved your sanity.
It helps to keep work and hobby separate.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

I always separate work and play, it's really the best policy.

Bigger house!

Bigger tank!
Bigger credit card bills!
That's the American way!

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Yeah Scott, my dad always told me "Don't buy a house bigger than what you need." That is great advice. Especially given the price of electric and gas.

Our house fits us perfectly, we just have too much STUFF!!!

The house we lived in until 2006 was a duplex, and we lived upstairs. It was a century home so the rooms were very small and had basically no closets. One bathroom, with a claw foot tub, was 6x9. Kitchen was 10x10. Our bedroom after taking a wall down was 9x15, Bryan & Chris' room was 9x10. When I was pregnant with Andrea we put an addition on; a master bedroom and bathroom. Bry & Chris moved into our bedroom and Andy moved into their room. The whole thing was just a tad above 1,000sq ft. We lived there for 26yrs, through the whole child-raising fiasco years.. most with no air conditioning and lots of yelling! LOL Good years, though.

As soon as the kids all left we built the new house. It's not huge by any means; 2,600sq ft. But my bedroom is 20x18! My bathroom is 15x 12! We have a separate tub and shower, and the shower is 6x6, and has a bench to sit on! The kitchen is 20x 15! It's a fricken MANSION compared to what we had.

The kids are dumbfounded! How could we do this?! LOL

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

When I was growing up, we might have had tv reception maybe 6 months total out of the year and we got one channel. We were FAR too busy outside for such nonsense as tv anyway so nobody cared. Our house was very modest and small, but with 300 acres to play on, who wanted to stay inside anyway?

Sorry Scott, just reminiscing.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

sounds like you have a nice house, Barb. I don't know what I would do with a smaller house. Ours is about 1,700 sq ft, but I cook a lot and like to entertain and there's not much space...the kitchen just needs to be reconfigured and you can only sit 4 people in our dining room. It's actually an eat-in kitchen, but if anyone comes over for dinner, we've got people scattered everywhere.

besides...a bigger living room=a bigger tank!

Nice!
You don't need a bigger house. You need to build a fish room extension

Awesome! I love dinner time. It is so much fun to watch everybody nabbing at the food.
