Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

For those of you that were following the Injured BTA thread, it went down the toilet today. Actually, I think it died yeaterday, but I gave it another day. It was brown and stinky.

I boosted my spirits and purchased a new green BTA today (I removed, what I think had a piece of it for lunch, a 1 and 1/2 inch Gorilla crab!) so hopefully this one will be safer. It settled in nicely, but the clowns have not found it yet-strange. It's the same color, in the same location as the other one. I'm confident that they will find it.

Haven't heard about the Blue Spot yet. Today was the day it was supposed to arrive. I will be calling the LFS tomorrow to see what is up.
Thinking BLUE!

Just stopping in, wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything exciting! The baby is overdue! Did you get any spike in your tank from the anenome? You had it in a QT didn't you?

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

I haven't tested it since Wed. when it was zero. Yeaterday, my wife told me it was on the rock all day, but when I got home from work it was shriveled up on the bottom. Today it was brown and tore apart when I suctioned it out.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

I wanted to get this in my chronicle. Here is a picture of my injured BTA. I suspect a rather large Gorilla crab took a chunk out of it for lunch. It went downhill when I removed it to The QT. It passed on 02-22-07.

Here is a picture of my new green BTA added on 02-23-07. My clowns couldn't be happier.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Cool... your clowns have a new home!

Are they Ocellaris? I believe they are the mellowest of the clowns and don't get too rough with their hosts. My clowns are being very nice to my Goni.

Oh yeah... I did do a 10 gallon water change with NSW. It's probably a bit early to make a judgement... but I did notice increased polyp extension of many of my corals. I will keep you updated.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

They are true Percula's. I wonder if they are responsible for the damage to the other BTA. They were picking at the wound.

Percs are more aggressive than Ocellaris... I'd keep an eye on them with your new BTA in case you need to intervene. They might get overly rough and not give the BTA a chance to settle in.

Re: Dentoid's Reeforama

Good luck with your new green BTA. I hope you have better luck with this one. If its any consolation I still have a pic of your old BTA taped to the side of my tank. Its not helping my clown any and Im about ready to flush it as well. I think I will try your new BTA on my tank maybe we will both have better luck!

Keep trying Wolfy, that ole clown will do what nature intended for it to do. Have you tried sneaking up on the clown and scaring it!
