| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank I forgot about the rics. They are holding their own. The larger one doesn't like to stay on the rock or where I put it. It is hanging out in the corner. I tried to tuck a rock under it, but it rejected it. So, I am leaving it alone for now. It is eating mysis shrimp (when the snails don't steal it). The netting seemed to be getting in the way of the other one, so changed to the rubber band. Still no idea if they will become more than one.

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank I replaced my VHO super actinic lights today with one super actinic and one actinic. I put the actinic in the front since my corals at the bottom of the tank will enjoy the extra lighting. It's nice to see the tank now! I run the MHs early so that they aren't on during the hotest part of the day.

| Torch coral | Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank nice color on the ricordea, i thought i might give a couple other attachment ideas, as the rubber band looks on snug side which may hurt the coral... try a push pin (long one) minimal damage to coral and often very easy to insert a good bit into live rock, once attached you can easily remove, also plastic toothpick to skewer (not my favorite for mushrooms) and rubberband or glue the toothpick lastly bridal veil to cover the shroom until attached, and the veil can be pinned, rubberbanded or glued down

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank Thanks for the ideas. They seem to be happy enough just sitting in the container or rubble (no rubber band). I like the pin idea.

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank I've got the Mag 3 hooked up. Yesterday it filled the cup so I adjusted it. Today it has nothing in it. I'm sure it is just adjustments at this point. The Mag 3 definitely is working better than the Mag 5 was. Just took some pics, will need some time to sort through them though.

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank Scott - I had these rics placed very close to the MHs and in high flow area of the 125. I think it was just too much for them. They are now at the bottom of the 50 gallon tank and seem to prefer very low flow. They are in their plastic container and still doing well, though not yet attached.

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank We've had a rough few days. 50 Gallon Tank My male Pyle Wrasse has been injured badly. If he lives he will probably be blind in one eye (it was cut and was hanging off of him - gross!). I'm treating with Maracyn 2. He seems to be more responsive today, but I'm sure he has a long way to go still. 29 Gallon Tank I was feeding this morning and noticed that none of the fish came out to eat. 3 of the 4 fish in this tank only come out to eat, but they ALWAYS come out to eat. A few minutes later I noticed that the pink cucumber was stuck in the powerhead. I unplugged it and it came out on its own (a bit damaged, but still alive). Then I noticed a few of the fish. They were behaving abnormally though. The Bar goby was laying on the sand in plain sight, the shrimp goby was laying in the middle of the tank against the glass. Then I saw the dead 8 line wrasse. The cucumber had been removed to my 125 display before I saw this. I quickly realized that it had poisoned the tank. I did an 80% WC (50%, then exchange of 10% back and forth to get the 80) and added more carbon. The bar goby didn't make it, but I am happy to report I still have that cute watchman goby. Not sure about the shrimp goby, haven't seen him yet. Much of the cleaning crew died as well. NO MORE CUCUMBERS
