Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank

Redecorated yesterday to make room for the new stuff.

Left side - Note Rebekah's new frag in front, and my artwork gluing my star polyps to my overflow box!

Middle section - Still fish central, but also a new spot for my rics, blasto, and zoos.

Right side - Made the shelf a little more fish friendly, hoping they spread out a bit. May move the orange zoos and put my acans on this shelf, still deciding...

That looks great Lorriane! Your aquascaping skills are unsurpassed! How are the BS's doing? Eating and generally being cute?

Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank

Craig, you must not have met Mr. Palani yet. He is the Palani Tang that survived my tank crash. I netted him out of the QT when he was literally taking his last breath of air and dumped him into my WC water. It saved his life! He's grown several inches since December with all my WCs and is really too big for my tank, but he was such a fighter he had to go back in. You should have seen him yesterday when I started blocking all his caves and arches. It was quite comical, he is usually a very good sport about allowing my corals in his space, but he finally said that he had had enough after I messed with everything for several hours!

Scott, not sure about skill at all. I think I just don't mind getting soaked all day. Must be the diver in me. Update on the BSs - Both are still eating, but probs with the tail fins..worried a bit. Mr. 50 is cute as a button, Mrs. QT just hides.

Geewiz, glad you stopped by and enjoyed the pics!

Beautiful tang. The Yellow color and body type had me fooled.

Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank

Thanks jhnrb!

Looks like corals aren't the only thing that burned a hole in my pocket. I'm out of karma too! I'll have to catch you another time. I'm hoping to get new pics of the tank tomorrow. So much changed in one day - wow! I cleaned the 50 and 30 today, added a ton of the new colorful corals to the 125, mixed up my alk, calc, and mag supplements, and added kalk to the reactor. Somehow, I managed to tinker the day away just on fish stuff!

I went to the lfs to return a bad bottle of DTs (that was my excuse anyway). I discovered that they recently used Flatworm Exit on their HUGE display tank. Anyway, long story short, they lost many of their very nice fish in that tank to the toxins released from the dying flatworms. So sad, the fish had been in there forever! The corals all seemed to make it ok, along with their anemone and a few fish. The tank was covered in flatworms last week, but since the tank was so big, they couldn't get to many of them.

Re: Lorraine's Rebuilding of 125 gal Tank

Aw which tank was that? Not the huge one you see right when you walk in? So sad!!! I guess they had to get those pesky flat worms out of there one way or another, bummer about the fish though!

I can't wait to see your tank with all it's new goodies!!
