Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

Thanks for watching. I know they are long but I wanted to be sure everybody and everything was included.
I did want to pull out this one picture. It is a coral I believe I got in a frag pack at MACNA but regardless I have no idea what it is.
It gets all fluffy when it is happy and when the lights come on. As of now it is called "fluffy coral"

Slideshows were perfect with my coffee this morning. Craig stole my comment...love the little clown goby.
Is that a Fiji leather or a toadstool?

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

Great montage Lynn! The Engineer goby is the bomb and I love the Midas blennies. In some of the shots, they are so intimately fit into their rocks that it looks like a rock with a head!

That gorgonian is about to grow out of the tank! That thing has really grown! Thanks for the update. Give Frank my regards!

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

The gorgonian has been fragged many times but it just keeps growing an growing. Anybody who wants a piece and will pay shipping is welcome to it.
It is one of my water indicator pieces. If it doesn't open up then I need to run tests immediately.
The yellow is a toadstool but the other I am not sure. It was sold as a toadstool but looks so much different I don't think it is.

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

Thank you so much Heinz. I knew you would be able to id it for me.
My clown gobies are some of my very favorite fish. I have found though that they like to be alone. Every time I have tried to add two of the same type to a tank I soon have only one. So I stick with my citron and my yellow and am very content. I just hope they never make the clams mad. That is their favorite place to hang out.

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

Well, now that I had a name, I did a google search. Not much info out there and very little in English. I did find a number of pictures though and I am not sure that is what it is. I have had mine for almost a year now and it has the same 5 branches on one stalk. Then during the day it gets what I call furry or fuzzy. It looks like the polyps would be very soft if touched but I have never done so.
Since I found so little information though I will go with your ID. You are always right anyway.
Thanks for stopping by and seeing my poor attempt at pictures. They are nothing compared to yours.

Ok....Lynn. I think my ID is right. Take a look at this picture, it is a Cladiella brassica. BTW .... the color of the polyps of each coral can be very different from rose to brown.

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

Now that looks closer than any of the pictures I found.
I trusted you anyway but thanks for the verification. Apparently it is not that common since I could find very little info. It is a pretty cool but slow growing piece. At least in my system. Since I could find so very little information can you tell me if it is a leather or something else? I believe one of the few pieces of info I found said it was but I am just curious. Somehow I have accumulated a lot of leathers in my tank. I must like them. Well my favorite are lps but they are also the favorite of my chevron tang.
Thanks again for stopping by and for the id.
