Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

I don't like ice I don't like rain and I don't like snow on the side of the road going up and down the mountain. Everything is fine. It was just very difficult and scary for this poor Florida girl.
How do you guys do it? I am in awe.

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

LOL Hasn't been that bad yet but the place I am doesn't exist on Garmin and when it does find me it sends me over and around the mountain to go about a mile the other way.
Guess I should have come for a visit Sas before I attemted this.
I swear I may have them pic me up in the morning.

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

Places like upstate NY know how to take care of the roads in the winter. You won't have any problems. Seriously. Just calm down and don't think about it and just drive. Drive like your driving in a rain storm in Florida.

Sas.... ROFLMAO!!!!

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

But this snow is in my way. I can't see anything, and the road is so narrow.
Anyway very scary. Yes the roads are clear but between the ice and the rain and the snow piled up everywhere I am tired of driving.
Now looking at it is incredible. I would love to have taken the same drive as a passenger. It is beautiful.

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

Could someone there drive you back to the airport? Or at least to an interstate?

Seriously though, it's really not a big deal. The roads are most likely bare and dry. Think about it, how often do you run off of the road while driving in Florida? So logically thinking, you won't be driving IN the snow, just on the dry road.

Lynn, you'll be fine. Just think of it as sand dunes on the beach and you are driving through Daytona Beach! Crank the heat in the car!

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

For whatever the reason it is not so much the cold. Most of the time I am warmer than Florida because I am inside. Even when outside it's not that cold. The problem today was just above freezing and raining. So the rain would freeze etc. I'm thinking it will get worse overnight because it is still raining.
Anyway, I'll hang tough and drive it and if you are driving behind some idiot who is going very slowly tomorrow, it is probably me.

4WD and growing up driving in the snow to ski every winter. The more snow, the less skiers, which is a good thing!
