Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

Hmm. Interresting theory. Usually that will make an animal less agressive but who knows. Maybe he understood the implications.
No I am not done w/my chores. Instead I am meeting Catrina at the LFS. Lots more fun. Hopefully I am just getting water but with me you never know.
I am totally bummed though. I just found out my favorite LFS is going out of business, My husband is so bad at messages. I guess he got a bunch of stock in but instead of a grand re-opening it is a store closing sale. Good thing this new one opend up or I would be super bummed.
The ailing frogspawn is down to one head and I probably should have just given up. Instead we cut the two that were very dead off and I am giving the last one another chance. We moved it yesterday away from where the chevron hangs out since it is possible he was picking on it. Haven't seen him do it but then again they are sneaky little buggers sometimes.
The new clown and yellow watchman both seem to be doing well in their respective tanks. I love the little face on the watchman. He tries to look so mean and fails utterly. He just looks cute to me.
I'll try for some pics this evening since it has been a long time.

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

HeHe. I have a clown in my brain. Well a yellow clown goby anyway. He is just so cute. He perches all around the tank and just loves to pose for pictures.
No that is not a nudibranch. That is my sea hare. Awesome animal and really cool to watch as well. I am still trying for a better pic where you can see it's cute little face but those were the best I got last night anyway. Some days I can't even find him so I was glad he was out an about so I could get some pics.

I wish I had been smart enough to think of that when you were talking about rabbits the other day. Actually the sea hare has been there for two weeks did an awesome job of cleaning the overflow of HA. I didn't put him there, but somehow 12 hrs after being put in the tank, that is where we found him. It is also where all the HA was. I wish he would have eaten all of the aiptasia in there. I can't seem to reach it and peppermints just disappear (probably down the overflow).
So far there seems to be enough food for him but it is early yet. I am prepared to feed him nori if/when he is finished with his cleaning duties. Also I can move him from tank to tank as needed since I have 3 up and running. He can keep them all clean for me.

I have had that brain for I think 3 weeks. It is awesome. Didn't do well at first, but then I removed the flameback and moved the brain. One or both things worked since it now looks wonderful again.

Thanks for the kind words all. Hopefully I will get a decent FTS sometime soon. I don't know how you people do it. When I take a FTS I loose all detail in the tank by the time I get far enough away to get the whole tank in the pic. The wide angle lense helps some but it also distorts some and I always forget I even have it.

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

Lynn, I have the same problem with the full tank shots, so I have been cropping a few pics together to make a panoramic photo. I just insert the photos into Microsoft Powerpoint, line them up together crop what I need to and then save it as a jpeg. I also like how the short videoclip scanning the tank came together. You could post one to Photobucket.

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

You know, I forgot the video thing. I may have to try that. I've got a program that does the photo stitching but haven't tried it yet. It came with the camera and I always forget about that program.
So thanks for 2 good ideas.

Re: Lynn and Frank's saltwater adventure.

I'm so excited. My Koralia #4s should be here tomorrow.
Wonder if I will be able to wait till the weekend to hook them up.
I can't wait. I have this grand plan of moving all my powerheads so that everything in all 3 tanks is improved. It is going to be interresting. New flow patterns in all 3 tanks but it all starts with the arrival of the new powerheads.
I was just so excited I had to share.
