The identical mouth structure means they compete for the same food supply. Keep us posted and I would recommend a Yellow Eyed Kole Tang as your next tang acquisition as it will remain under 8" in length, perfect for your 180. That size tank is too small for the Naso, especially with the two tangs you currently have. Good looking tangs for sure!

Re: Jorgen's First time with a 180g!

Tangs sem to get along great. They seem to school. they never stray from one another. However, they do not seem to be grazing on the red slimy hair alge like I had hoped they would. I'm having a real issue bateling this stuff. I think an RO/DI unit is going to need to be added soon. I added some phosphate removing media with little susccess at the moment.

Re: Jorgen's First time with a 180g!

Well a trip to the LFS yielded some new charges. First off a hitchiker. Any thoughts? I did some searches but couldn't seem to come up with a match that I thought was accurate. Roughly a little bigger than a pencil eraser.

Next is a Yellow Gargantiuan thing. Seems like ti will be pretty difficult given the limited knowledge on it's feeding habits. It appears to be a non-zoo symbiotic job so we'll see what happens. Only cost me $20 and the wife thinks it's pretty. I'd like to see him grow a bit.

Next is my son's reward for toilet training. He's been asking for this since before I had the tank. His pride and joy.

And finally just a Condy to help add some movement. The tanks is still pretty baren so if he does cause problems I can oust him.

Looking good, diatoms will disappear when the silicates are gone!

Absolutly not. I love DIY projects and all but damn.....

I plan on replacing it as I can afford to get more LR in bulk (ie 40# boxes). I think I should be safe from cycles with that amount and the minimal load in my system.

But not untill I get my halides!!! Which may be 6 months to a year. Got a "no credit card" order from my boss.

And wood the lil polyp looking things just up for the bubbles. on the same rock theres 4 polyps but only 3 are visable in the picture.

Re: Jorgen's First time with a 180g!

Just got caught up on this thread. Great looking tank! I particularly like the bubble. I'm partial to the LPS corals myself. You've got a lot of room to get some great corals going. Can't wait to see what you do with the rest.

Be sure to keep an eye on the mandarin. If you see him getting skinny at all buy some pods and add them to the tank.
Beautiful fish though.
