| Golden Moray ![]() | Re: The 90 gallon Road Trip Alright so its comin to be crunch time and I have the list of the fish that I am taking. Im taking my blue tang, flame hawk, my 2 clowns, sifter and my 2 psudochromis. I got my blue tang from a friend he is 3 years and about 2-2.5 inches long and hasnt grown in 3 months so i dont think hes gettin any bigger. I know i want to add a kole tang. I want to go for cool fish and nothing just normal. Any suggestions on a completly reefsafe fish? I was thinking about a convict tang, any expierences with them would be great Thanks, Matt |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: The 90 gallon Road Trip I know nothing about convict tangs, but IMO 3 tangs in a 90g is iffy at best. It can be done, but i would be careful. Find out what type on tang the Convict and the blue are. Everything I read says two tangs of the same body style are very likely to fight sometimes to the death. To minimize get the new tang of a larger size than the established one, add the new fish when lights are out and re-arrange your rock, This means both fish will need to establish their own territory.

| Regular Guy Moderator ![]() | Re: The 90 gallon Road Trip What size tan did the Blue tang come from? I'm assuming it's a Hippo tang and "3 years and about 2-2.5 inches long and hasnt grown in 3 months" is stunted growth for that fish. A convict tang, hippo, and kole would be a good mix, but as lynn advised, 90 gallons is too small long-term for three tangs.

| Golden Moray ![]() | Re: The 90 gallon Road Trip The hippo came from a 36 gallon bowfront. Kinda sad that he was locked up like that. The same guy in a 36 has a Purple tang, blue tang, niger trigger, 3 wrasses, 2 clowns, a sifter and a neon dottyback. This kid really has no idea what he is doing. If the blue wont get any bigger and the kole stays small why would that be a problem? How big do convicts get? And how aggressive are they? Matt |

| Golden Moray ![]() | Re: The 90 gallon Road Trip well i made it safe to kansas about a week ago. It was about 30 hours of driving. Out of the stuff that I took i had one fish loss and 3 corals. I would say that it was pretty successful. I have the tank setup and will get pictures of it as soon as i can find the camera. A couple months down the road i am planning on setting up something like a 40 or 60 gallon refugium, so i will be needing more information on that. I have my 400 watt mogul pendants that i will need to put up on the 90. And i was thinking about putting about 120-140 lbs of sand. What do you guys think? Any ideas about resetting up a tank to make it go smoother would be appreciated. Thanks, Matt |
